We got flown business class to Germany , put up in a hotel for 2 nights , had a tour of the factory , then had to sit through the palaver of being called to collect our car , that was quite good
Any other car , nothing ...and not botheredVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
Who's paying for all the razamatazz?
Personally I'll just pick the car up with a minimum of fuss.0 -

I have opinions, you have opinions. All of our opinions are valid whether they are based on fact or feeling. Respect other peoples opinions, stop forcing your opinions on other people and the world will be a happier place.1 -
1xFord, waiting for me outside the garage...no unveiling, no gifts, just a walkaround and instruction on new controls.
1xMercedes, sitting outside the garage, quick walkaround, no gifts.
1xFord delivered to my home, quick walkaround, signed over, no gifts.
1xVolvo sitting inside showroom, quick walkaround, cup of tea with biscuits, bunch of flowers for my wife, pair of mugs with trade names, etc.
The days of unveiling ceremonies for new cars are long gone...they just aren’t that special anymore.0 -
I’ve had two “unveilings”, both with “approved used” cars in the last 3-4 years.
Mercedes actually offered to video the whole thing ( I declined) and gave me a nice umbrella. Jaguar draped the car with a Union Flag, and gave me a bottle of good champagne - better!
I’m picking up a nearly-new Honda in a few days. I’ll update if there’s any nonsense or freebies.0 -
An unveiling with a brand new Renault Clio back in 1998.
Would have saved myself years of pain and a shedload of dosh if I had simply drove it to the scrapyard opposite the showroom.0 -
Got my picture taken giving a thumbs up for their "happy customer" wall.0

I bought a, not new, car from a place that did the whole unveiling from under a blanket/cloth thingy, played music, had flashing lights, gave you a glass of fizz and took your photo.
I was asked if I wanted any of that and having said no, my car was sitting waiting to be collected.
Less impressive was the claim that the vehicle had undergone 53 separate checks to ensure it was in tip top condition.
I took it back the next day as the lights didn't work properly.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0
