I’m pretty naughty like you and rely on SPF in both my face cream and tinted moisturiser.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

If I'm going to be out in the sun all day, I put on a long-lasting sunscreen like Ultrasun, I generally use the sports gel on my face as it keeps me cooler but I like the dedicated face one too, I also make sure my eyes are protected with La Roche-Posay Ultra Comfort Cream as it's the only one over SPF15 to protect your eyes.
Otherwise I buy any face cream with an SPF of 30 or above, I'm not loyal to one in particular, the ones I have bought and liked (and are still available) are....
Avon Reversalist, though the SPF is only 25 so not ideal for me but it made a huge difference to my skin.
Olay Regenerist 3 Point Day Cream SPF30 is very light and nice, TBH I love Olay creams anyway!
I also love and still use Boots Time Delay Day Cream spf 30 but it's been discontinued and there's nothing in the new Lift range to replace itNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

My mum sent me this, WDNBA it's really weird and I can't say it did anything except be damp and rubbery on my face for ten minutes!

I came back from Rome yesterday, I went with DD and we took the bare minimum of make up, skincare etc. For shampoo and body wash we used The Friendly Soap Co Travel bar, just sliced a bit off and put it in a tub and we used their Patchouli & Sandalwood soap as face wash. We left the bottles of hotel toiletries untouched but did open one mini soap to use for washing hands, we brought that back so it wouldn't be wasted. Using the soaps worked really well if anyone is looking into doing the same.
great tips thanks! I am working away in a couple of weeks so will try and slice some soap myself0 -
Kadison - I know people are using that amount of products but I stand by my statement that no one needs to. People have been convinced by the beauty industry for the sake of profits that you need layer upon layer of chemicals on your face - you do not. Also recycling is not the answer, it just doesn't get recycled - how many products do you have in your house made from recycled plastic? People need to stop absolving themselves of responsibility by putting things in the recycling bins - it is being shipped abroard or burnt on the whole, we need to get the idea out of our heads and star reducing - pronto.
I have to agree with dolly84 on this. I frequently see reports that certain grades of plastic are not recycled properly, or are simply not recyclable at all. Cutting down on plastic is the only way, there's nothing wrong with wanting an effective skincare regime but there are products out there which don't use plastic packaging - it's obviously really tricky to avoid plastic but recycling doesn't solve the problem most of the time.0 -
UU - Bumble and Bumble Shampoo Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Sulfate Free Shampoo
WNBA - this is good if you want soft hair but doesn't do anything cheaper products can't.ally.0 -
Finished Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Soap . I bought it originally as a shampoo. It was ok but didn't use it much for the shampoo.0
