Pouring with rain here too. All my flying plans scuppered by a very poorly cat who has been taken to the vet and will need to stay in overnight. Feeling quite sad now and his little cat buddy seems to be missing him too.
DH is away, bathroom looks like a disaster zone as painting not finished so I can’t even have a nice bath. Think I might have a glass of wine and a takeaway tonight.0 -
Two hours spent trying up reopen UC claim, as they've closed it twice in a week for earning too much in May. What? It's July/August now. May is irrelevant. Don't usually get anything much (twenty quid is twenty quid, though), but seeing as I'm unemployed until September and won't be paid until the end of it if I'm lucky, I'd rather not use up all the redundancy pay if I'm not legally required to do so. It asked me the exact same long list of questions five times, then asked Himself the same ones about me once, and just kept pinging me around in circles. But it's done and I've got an appointment in a fortnight to discuss what I'm doing to find work in the fortnight before I start my new job, as apparently having a start date a month and two days in advance can't be coped with by the system. But if I'd left it another two days, we'd have been sanctioned for not telling them by today. Hmmpppph. I did ask Himself if he'd had the request for the blood of a virgin and inside thigh measurement as well. Apparently, he did all that with a man at a meeting that allegedly didn't happen according to the computer last week and he's seeking counselling for the trauma privately. And we'll have to find a different virgin next time *stifled sob from Himself*. The changeling OH's now received a sense of (very dark) humour on a par with my own, too.
Water still dripping out from the stopcock. I'll be contacting them again in the morning.
And I still haven't finished the damnable online learning. I've got degree level qualifications, I teach, but this course is ridiculous. It's boring, it's out of date, it's patronising, completely inaccessible to anybody with visual or processing disorders and entirely inappropriate for an entry level candidate (but I thought a new external qualification would be useful. More fool me.)
Mind you, have ordered a naice dress for the first day of work and will most likely venture out to get eyebrows and suchlike done in the next day or so [strike]to avoid looking like The Wolfman's Sister[/strike]. I might reward myself by taking a look in M&S for something else to wear.
And I still need to do an online shop.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I have unpicked the sides of a pillow case and tacked four arrow shapes on the front to make a 'medieval' cross (think Knight's Templar) on the 'tabard' ready for castle role play when I'm back at the chalkface. I'm going to applique them on (well, in my mind I am - but given this will be my first ever applique we'll see...but I have a mental picture of it which equates to a plan. So the tight zig zag stitch should do it. I will have a practice run. I also need to make a drawstring bag for the class mascot to be taken home in each week
This are summer jobs from the list which is now half written. One line is 'Clear the crap OUT'. This will mean NO MORE PILES. This will be a massive improvement. I've had heaps of 'when I get round to it' for a l-o-o-n-g time.
I should have gone to town today and bought cards for August as I need lots but it rained and we had thunder. So I didn't.
Benny is now allowing me to catch him much more quickly...he's almost tame.

Came back from gym looking forward to my newly re-written list of admin jobs. Huh. I thought I had to documents to scan through and sign; my new work contract and the data protection agreement. Started reading the DP agreement and found that I had to specify in great detail how I would process, store and communicate every bit of data, despite this being agreed by the manager last year so tempted though I was to put "as instructed" I had to name email and server systems, describe what data I was processing and why (the data you give me and I collect, for the purpose laid down in the 50 page contract I signed). At the end of it all, despite one of my criteria for gaining the contract being to write a statement on my company's sustainability, they want me to print off 2 copies of each document i.e. 132 pages - just so I could sign and date the last page in each. Fuming.
After that lot (actually it is still printing) - copious amounts of packing and sorting done at MIL's flat ready for the move tomorrow. Care workers say she is dancing with joy at leaving. Let's hope she likes the new place...........Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Morning all
At paid stuff, anxiously awaiting news on my furry friend. Wash load done and on line, very grey here but it is breezy so hopeful that it will dry. Made bed, swished over bathroom and kitchen. Painter should be back shortly, hopeful as well that bathroom will be finished today.
Back later0 -
Off out for the day today, so will be double-flying tomorrow to catch up.
Have great days all

Think it rained all night, very damp in Valliland.
Went through summer list last night...some jobs already ticked off. Now all I need to do is keep up with them.
