Sounds like great progress to me. My house is filled with those types of storage cubes...

It's been fab. I wish I had got one a long time ago.

I've been mooching on here today and have re-signed up to the £1000 emergency fund challenge. I've also shown interest in the pay off one debt in 100 days. I think I really need lots of things to keep my motivation high. The last year has been so strange and my debt has increased so it's time to bring out the big guns and get things sorted once and for all. I do just need to keep calm though as I get frustrated with slow progress.

I must tell myself....SLOW PROGRESS IS BETTER THAN NO PROGRESS.

Anyway time to finish of DS's bedroom while he is otherwise engaged. If he is around nothing will leave this house the little hoarder.

    Have a fantastic weekend everyone.👍🍻

You're doing really well. Just remember to set yourself realistic targets. If you reach them early then you can set new ones. But if you make them too difficult and fail then it gets you down.

    Good luck with DS's bedroom!

You are doing great with decluttering and cleaning PH.

You have reminded me that I am signed up for the £1,000 emergency challenge and I never quite got there. I revisited Dave R. and it is supposed to be separated in an account. Something I've never done. He also says build it as fast as you can so I have put £200 from another less important pot in an unused account and set up a S/O of £50 a month.

How are you doing your £1,000 fund?
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

    Morning diary

I have two weeks left before back to work. I really want to have fun with DS and make another dent on house stuff.

I also have another round of treatment Wednesday afternoon so I need to go for a good test tomorrow morning. I'm very grateful that treatment is available to but really starting to get on my wick.

I'm going searching for more t shirts for DS's memory quilt. I have loads of his stuff in the awkward cupboard.

Anyway time to get on. Have a good day.

On the EF - DR recommends you sell stuff, work extra shifts, do anything you can to get that EF set up - preferably in one month... as otherwise we are likely to fall back into borrowing when emergencies arise. I had an emergency with DS who is abroad earlier this year that was around £1K but had an emergency fund so didn't have to borrow more.

Thanks SavingHolmes. You must have been relieved to have your emergency fund. I hope you've managed to build it up again.

I love DR. He always gets me fired up. I have been looking around for stuff to sell but I think most of it went years ago. What's left is just carp but I may see if I can get a load together for a car boot...

My work don't do overtime but I struggle to manage four days at the moment as the chemo wipes me out. I have to try and find the balance between work and health.

I did used to work part time for myself as a dressmaker. Unfortunately the treatment has caused peripheral neuropathy which has caused completely numb hands and feet. I did repair a dress for a colleague recently but it was poor. Not up to my standards. I have to say this is one of my biggest frustrations to be honest. It made me a few pounds each month.

Actually while typing I've remembered I still have DS's washable nappies. I think I will research into selling those. They cost a small fortune.

I don't want to sound like I'm giving loads of excuses and under normal circumstances I would throw myself into it headlong but normal doesn't exist at the moment and to be honest it so bl00dy frustrating.

PH you're not 'giving loads of excuses' - you're stating facts, and another fact is that you are doing brilliantly! Coping with Chemo and the reason for it is something that is life changing, and the strength of mind you have shown is inspiring. You have made fantastic progress and I'm certain you will continue to do so. Be proud of yourself. ((((hugs))))

    Thank you Chrystal.

I'm just a stubborn old bugg£r who doesn't like change or having to dance to others tunes.

I've sorted through a load of DS's old clothes and have 7 bin bags. That's just 0_3 yrs. I don't think I've had that many clothes in 48 yrs.:rotfl: This has been a big thing for me as I'm so sentimental but it's done. I wonder how much more I can declutter before bed.

    On a roll.
