I rented flat directly from landlord in Newcastle area. There was some damage when we left which we accept is our fault but would like to know if charges are reasonable.
Skirting missing (it is about 15cm in length) - £200 + VAT - £240
Showerhead holder cracked - £50 + VAT - £60
I can't post links so please can someone post photos on my behalf (I've put links down with spaces in between)

The landlord is a nice english man who does his own repair work. He says that's why it is cheaper. I don't know building repair rates in UK so help is appreciated. Thanks!

LL is taking the !!!! ! £50 for both is being generous. And why did you not fix those jobs yourself?0

            I'm sorry I don't understand. What you mean?0

for a contractor to come in and fix, those are not excessive. It's £50 just for the travel time/costs.
If he produces a written quote/estimate to support the claim I suspect the arbitrators would agree.
Whether he then chooses to DIY or pay the contractor is irrelevant an up to him.0 -
In the first photo the skirting is quite clearly intact and in one piece.
Did he perhaps mean the beading?0
