I hope the doctor allays some of your fears then and you are clearer about what support is available. Yes, makes sense about the car as obviously you won't recoup the money until you start work with them. Has your employer agreed to release you at the beginning of January or have you got to work until later in the month?
I am fine thanks. Awww that sounds lovely! We did ours at the weekend, it all looks so lovely!
Still have no idea! They will not confirm either way, which is why I’ve got the car now. Means I can get the tax rebate which will pay for my car anyway, so I’d rather pay an extra payment of my own finance than pay to use their car!My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0 -
Iwantanewlife wrote: »Small update from me, and feeling a little calmer now. I have just had a heads up from my payroll department. My tax has changed in time for this pay, and between a tax rebate and not having my company car, I have been paid an extra £1k this month. This means that although my CC debt is going to rise by about £200, I will be able to get through my gap in work, and gap in pay, plus the up front car fees/insurance without getting in too much trouble. So plan of action, is stash all the 'left over' money which would usually go on CC over payment, pay the car fees (first payment will come out before i get my first payment and car tax, plus £30 for the start of my maintenance pot) and hold on to it until i have my under payment in January. Although this is going to be tight, I feel so much better that i can make it through now. Normal debt busting will resume at the end of February. I have to admit, i am so glad i have learnt the MSE skills now, best time of year to know how to budget ey!!
so glad to hear you've had a little suprise of the additional £1k this month and that it will help you. with all you have going on you don't need any additional stress.
keep up the good work :-)0 -
Good news on the extra money that will help with the transition to your new job. You seem to have worked everything out and have it covered as much as possible. A few months from now and you will be settled into your new budget and hitting the debt again.
Hope the doctor helped to settle your mind concerning your son. If he is going to go through an assessment process then the after school club will have to put a plan in place for helping him to manage his behaviour until a decision is made. You are right to expect this.0 -
Good Afternoon Guys
Really stressful day again. This morning I took my son to the doctors, they have confirmed it does seem as if its ADHD, so he has now officially been referred. Had a meeting with the school and they seem far more supportive which is good.
Went to pick up the car, and its not ready, so now will be delivered tomorrow, waste of 4 hours!
My little brother has also got himself in a bit of bother and has asked to come and stay with me to get away from it all. Dont usually mind but at the moment, i really feel like i need some space to process things and de stress, which is really hard to do with guests in your house. However, family is family, so i will plod on and hope things get better soon!
Pay day tomorrow (monzo pay a day early) so gives me time to sort out my pots before all the direct debits come out. Birthday at the weekend, so lets hope things ease up a bit and i can enjoy the day of turning another year older!
I hope you are all having a better day than me! xMy debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0 -
Hope things have settled a bit for you now. It always takes a bit of time to process things like this but it will soon stop taking over all of your time and thoughts. Remember that it is not possible to make an instant diagnosis about ADHD but doctors do have experience of these things and usually have a good idea. Time for you now to do a bit of research about the best way forward and get as much information under your belt as you can so that you can make informed decisions about the future for your son. Glad you feel that the school is showing more support now.
Shame that the car wasn't ready for you and that just added to your stressful day. Hope you had a better day today.0 -
Good Morning!
So today is my birthday, and after an exciting night watching the elections i feel very tired, but also positive of a good new year ahead of me!
Pots have bin filled up, last of the Christmas presents wrapped up and its now time to start trying to relax and enjoy my favorite season.
So as you all know, this month no debt busting from me. I have paid my minimum payment of £48, the 'over payment' has been stashed in a emergency fund pot. The total stands at £707. I'm hoping i wont actually need this next month if i go really frugal, and actually can just keep saving it. In the meantime, i will keep on with my surveys and keeping things tight, so i can at least make small over payment whilst waiting for normal service to resume. My debt free journey, diary and all! Happy birthday!
I have no doubt that you will have to spend minimal, if any, of your emergency fund to tide you through the next month.
You are so organised and focused your new life will be on you before you know it. Enjoy the festivities (I'm not a huge fan and can't wait for it all to be over haha!) and savour the relaxation while you can, I think you deserve it!0 -
Happy birthday and hope you manage to avoid dipping into your emergency savings. At least you have a buffer.
I stayed up until about midnight watching the election results and then got up early.
