You guys are amazing with reassurance, makes me feel so much better about it all!! cheesy i know, but thank you.
Just totted up everything and i will need to find another £50 to clear it completely using my EF, going to go back through my budget and see what i can shave off. Judging by my food budget, and always coming in under im guessing that would be the sensible option.
Watch this space, that B*&$^d loan may soon well be gone forever!!!My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0 -
Agree with the others - if you can get rid of the loan then do it.
I have a pot called "stuff I forgot to budget for" in YNAB - use it almost every single month to cover overspends in other categories and things that don't fit in anywhere! I usually stick £20-£30 in there.0 -

Thanks Moguline, hope youve had a nice weekend. Ive got £30 in a misc pot, in fact just withdrew from it for a school trip that they have given us a weeks notice for
Going to try and re jig the money and get rid of the loan - aim is to clear it by the end of this week. That will free up £280 per month to spread attack the rest of the debts. My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0 -
You'll be debt-free in no time!
Yes, unexpected school expenses take up a large part of "stuff i forgot to budget for"!!0 -

And anything else to do with Children :rotfl:
My Barclaycard was at £0 but sons swimming lessons get charged to it so its been at £170 since last week. Paying off half tomorrow and the other half next week
At least its once every 3 months0 -
I would pay off the loan. It's expensive and the amount of interest being added and the time it's taking to pay it off is really getting to you. It will give you such a boost when it is no more.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Wow those are pricey swimming lessons!
Ours are £45 every 10 weeks!
It's only half an hour at a time but they're really good.0 -
Its £170 for 14 weeks, just over £12 a lesson (45 minute lessons)
We're in South East England, not sure if that makes it more expensive (everything else seems to be here!)0 -

haha this is so true, in London it seems like everything is at least double the price. My company is based up north in Yorkshire, and they can never believe the prices down here!
My son fancies swimming lessons too, he already does football that costs £40 a month plus travel, kit and football boots/ astro turfs that seem to need changing every 4 weeks lol. I feel bad that i cant do the swimming lessons too, but apparently when he goes into year 2 he will get them through the school, and ive taught him how to swim already so hopefully that will suffice. look at me trying to convince myself :rotfl: #mumguiltMy debt free journey, diary and all! Thanks for all the advice, im going to go ahead and try and scrap the money together to pay it off this week. I am slightly concerned as it really is going to get very tight for the next 3 weeks until payday. However, the relief that its gone will be immense. Also when pay day does come about it means i can replace a large chunk of the EF then start snow balling the rest of the debt from November time.
Now to try and find this money, number crunching for me today......My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0
