aww thank you! I think the issue with these long term goals is trying to keep the momentum and not lose faith because it doesnt move as quickly as you would like!

Are you on a debt free journey too?

Seems like you're making amazing progress as of late and you'll be debt free in no time!

Your Christmas sounds wonderful! I'm not from a very close family and we don't do anything of the sort...in fact, I usually work Christmas day but yours sounds just like Christmas should be. How wonderful :)

    Thank you!

Yes i feel very lucky to be honest. We were always brought up to be close, even now my best friends are my brothers, sister and cousins! Weve never really needed anyone else as weve always had each other!

  • Monday Blues

    Good Morning All

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, i certainly did. I feel really down to have to be back at work... this seems to be a pattern, and now i actually record it on here I can see more and more that i need to address it. Life is too short ey!

Anyway, as you all know, I was really nervous about how spendy this weekend would be, but i think i managed to control it quite well lol. Overall i spent £30 on Saturday and £6 yesterday. Ive also used quite a bit of fuel so thats going to be a stretch to make it last until Friday when my top up day is. To be honest the whole thing could of been a lot more expensive, it was £10 at the event! What i didnt get around to doing is sorting out the next batch of ebay bits so i need to make sure i get on that this weekend - no more excuses of hangovers and being tired!!

Im going to set myself a target of 3 NSD's this week. I shouldnt really need to spend anything so i need to be really strict. Next weekend should be a pretty cheap one, but then im away the weekend after so really need to keep it controlled!

All DD's have now left my account, and i have £40 left in the bill account. As i have some ebay costs coming i think im going to leave it in there just to make sure its all covered and whatever is left I will throw at the loan.

Have a good day everyone, and wish me luck for the NSD's! xx

  • Monday blues all day....

Been such a rubbish day at work today, seems one of my team had been mouthing off about me to another senior leader, it then got back to me. The person in question i know is disgruntled because of some recent changes that have been made, but it always kind of hurts when i find things out like this. I used to have such a thick skin, but since ive felt so under pressure with things it seems to get to me more. Oh well in the words of my favorite heroine; tomorrow is another day!

My boys football training tonight, so dont even get to sit down before 9pm......... hurry up weekend!!

  • Tuesday Morning Blues.....

Anyway before i start moaning again, just thought id run something passed you lovely people. I spoke to CC1 provider last night, and they have said that i could move CC2 balance over to them. CC1 APR is 29% CC2 is 35.5% - so although not loads of difference, every little helps right?

  • If there is no fee to transfer, then it seems like a sensible move (and gets overall number of credit lines down which helps with credit score and therefore future balance transfer eligibility etc). But, I'd carefully check it if there is a transfer fee to see if it's worth doing vs paying everything off as quickly as you can as it is now.
  • Hey Moguline, hope your well today? No transfer fee, as they are a linked company!

  • So if your following my diary you will know im a bit of a clean eater, love cooking and meal prepping..... today however, im going to go get so many sweets and chocolate that i feel sick, and i know it was supposed to be a NSD but hey, i need a pick me up before i end up just walking out of my job. I figured, £3 spent on un-budgeted crap vs having no job pretty much swung it!!

errrrr is it the weekend yet?

  • You might as well transfer the balance, every little bit of interest saved can only help. As far as your job is concerned it may be time to start planning some longer term goals for when the debt is gone. Is it possible for you to start looking for another job now? Would a move away from London be something you would consider given the high cost of rent/living there? You need to find a balance between how much salary you need to live the lifestyle you want. Maybe if you know the end is in sight it will make your job more bearable now. One thing is for sure, you do not want to spend all of your working life in a job that makes you miserable so taking steps to change that is definitely something you should start planning for.

Thanks MoneyWhizz, you are right, I have actually just got off the phone to a recruitment agent who has a couple of jobs that I might be interested in, he is sending over the non disclosure agreements this afternoon, so thats given me hope!

I dont want to move, as all my family are here, and I fear as a single mum i might end up feeling very alone as im so close to them all!
