Paypal Transaction Reverse - Please Help!!

  • Instant payments mean the seller receives the money instantly but it still takes about 3 to 5 days for the funds to be taken from the buyers account. If there are insufficient funds then Paypal will use the 'back up funding source'. In this case it would appear that the 'back up funding source' failed as well.

I paid for 2 items by Instant Bank Transfer on Wednesday and the money hasn't been taken out my account yet.

In this instance I don't see how the seller is at fault and Paypal should take the 'loss'. Instant Bank Transfers are not available to everyone which is why e-cheques get used. If Paypal have deemed the buyer trustworthy enough to allow them to use Instant Bank Transfers, then they should also take the risk. At no stage during the transaction is the seller informed of how the buyer has paid, if the money is cleared by Paypal then that is how it should remain.

I totally agree with you, as I said earlier I see this is a dispute between the buyer and Paypal.

It is not an e-cheque. I have dealt with e-cheques and I just wait for an e-mail to let me know it has cleared before posting the item. This was not pending at any time it was instant.

Still waiting for Paypal to respond to my lengthy complaint.

I just hope that this makes some MSE users who use paypal aware about what can happen.
    Thanks for all your feedback.
