I have submitted my complaint to the BPA and will update you if/when I receive a reply.

If it turns out OK, we need to go after POPLA who are providing shocking service. Understanding PoFA should be lesson 1 in their training

Absolutely. They shouldn't be let loose on any appeal unless/until they have been tested to destruction on any and every aspect of PoFA. It has become so fundamental to the whole private parking scene after 2012.

I hold John Gallagher responsible for much of this. If he understands PoFA, it's tantamount to a dereliction of duty. If he doesn't understand it, he should acknowledge that knowledge gap, get down to taking professional personal advice and coaching and then putting in strategies to resolve this nonsense. What's the point in the law, if ex-nail technicians, former call centre battery hens and budding soft !!!!!! writers can override it.

What sort of manager allows all that to happen under their watch - and happily take their salary each month?

The BPA have no traction over POPLA.

    The Ombudsman Service does.

  • Hi, sorry for vacancy, I’ve been away and had my phone stolen and just sorted it out. I’ve come home to see two letters from debt recovery plus asking for me to pay £170 for each ticket and by the 11th December and unfortunately that dates already passed

Who cares about DRP? The advice about ignoring them hasn't changed in a decade!

However, there is a thread like yours where someone is complaining to the BPA about this entrenched error in understanding of the law by POPLA, and they reported that the BPA asked for more info.

Maybe email Steve Clark and Gemma Dorans and see of they take an interest (BUT DO NOT MENTION THE TEDIOUS DRP LETTERS):

    steve.c@britishparking.co.uk

    gemma.d@britishparking.co.uk

I know I said the BPA have no traction over POPLA but this error in applying the law properly is so very terrible that surely the BPA must step in, as their ADR is failing in understanding the only poxy little piece of law (a tiny little schedule) that they need to read...how the hell can they all be so stupid or badly trained at POPLA, all of a sudden, that even complaints are being batted away with FALSE INFORMATION ABOUT THE LAW.

And POPLA used to get it right. What on earth has happened and gone wrong?

Who has been training the POPLA Assessors?

Were they 'got at' by the 'sector expert'(sic) with false info about the POFA deadline? POPLA has been running since 2013 and have NEVER EVER been this bad.

Please include a URL link to this thread when you mail Steve and Gemma about this utter farce POPLA are allowing to drag the BPA down. This is woeful and we've seen more than one case where POPLA can't add up to 14. Shocking and embarrassing.

It's Brucella, who has commented above (post #132). I think between Brucella and MinnieSox9, they could make a significant impact here.
