Nothing major to report- in non MSE news I purchased a monthly sports Viewing pass but have made a lot of Use of it with cricket and darts to watch.
I won £15 on a darts bet (recreational, not side hussle or problematic habit!) so rounded up to a £20 O/P! 5 days to payday 🥳

So we made it to payday 🥳 and I completed shielding 🤯 went for a meal last night and it was amazing.
Normal mortgage payment came out and leaves me at £87,358.46. It’s going to be a long month with plenty of expenses so I’m not committing to major OPs but priority is clear up that balance to nice round figure 😂

Well, my resolve lasted 12 hours! 🤦🏻‍♀️ OP of £58.46 sent today! By my calculations that will take me (briefly by £5) in to the £86k bracket with September payment!

So, I have another calculation that keeps me motivated; I’m sure you guys already do similar! I subtract my balance from the original loan amount to see how much I’ve paid off. Last nights OP took me to: £24,995 which was excruciating for my brain so another £5 sent; my balance will now be an odd number but incredibly satisfying to hit £25k cleared in 4 years!
That also takes me to 60% LTV 🥳

That's really good news!  I'm the same with calculating how much we've paid off and what equity we currently have in the house - I base this on the purchase price and what the lower end of the estimate from Zoopla is so I can get a rough idea for if and when we come to sell.

So amazing to see my OH after 5 months of shielding separately! Very MSE as he is a chef so cooked amazing spaghetti Bolognese (makes my shocking food habits even more cringe!)
In decidedly non MSE news I have contacted a broker regarding affordability for a bungalow which would mean an increase in mortgage debt!
I’m not desperate to leave the flat I love it, but shielding proved the importance of a garden! My role may also become less location dependent so I have less need to be near the city centre!
The asking price would be a real stretch but no harm in putting feelers out!
To be honest, not expecting to be able to afford it but it will at least give me more incentive to build equity!

Glad shielding is over for you now. You sound like you have a lovely support network.
You have done really wellwith the overpayments and each 1000 bracket must feel amazing at this point. Good luck with the bungalow, you never know and you are putting yourself constantly closer by making the OPs.
