Welp, the brewing shielding meltdown hit me full force today, mortifying emotional conversations with colleague and GP later; I now have some extra support in place.
I feel exhausted more than anything else; not posted as sympathy bait, just an honest account of events. It sounds daft but I feel better now- if you need help, please try to ask.

Okay, made it to the weekend; I’m considering that a victory, found a couple of work mistakes I’ve made lately and I’m frustrated but trying not to spiral over it; my work is important but everything can be fixed and it’s not life and death!
We’re on the mid-month slow roll to payday from here on out folks, no more OPs and Fathers Day looks to be the only expense left to cover!
Hope you’re all safe

Hope you’re all doing okay; not much to report in terms of MF but have noticed that as my mood deteriorated my tendency to overspend on junk food increased. Not particularly surprising but not ideal. So I’m trying to be more mindful when shopping (delivery due tomorrow!) and also pleased to have sorted last minute Father’s Day gift for tomorrow.
I am behind at work and my colleagues are super supportive but I feel terrible and it’s adding to negative thoughts; so I’m going to do some overtime today to catch up; short term pain for long term gain (I hope!)
Enjoy the weekend folks

I’ve taken a couple of days annual leave to give myself a 4 day weekend and I feel better all the time - didn’t realise how burned out I am!
Right, enough rambling; the mortgage balance updated today with the normal payment and I’m in the £88,000’s for good 🥳🥳🥳
In terms of scope for OPs I’ve been reviewing finances and realised I’m in the very fortunate position that my major bills (mortgage, council tax, service charge, utilities, subscription etc) come to£900 p/m - in light of this I’ve revised my EF savings target to be 3 months expenses rather than 3 months wages - once I’ve done this, everything spare can go towards an OP.
EF currently stands at £1400, hoping to add at least another £200 this month.
Feeling focussed for the first time in a long time - hope you’re all staying safe and well.xCleared 25k from mortgage in 4 years - now I need to do it again!
