No, they won't, and it will be more than £60 in court.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No but you won't win at POPLA now, barring a miracle, having admitted to driving and admitted to walking off-site, killing off both the slam-dunk winning points you had when you got that PCN.

UKPC then file court claims and whilst it will be worth defending, it is such a faff and not about £60 by then.

You only had to research it first. Easy to win this one at POPLA normally.

Lack of adequate signage is where they have gone wrong in my opinion.

People usually read parking terms in detail when they first use a car park but if its one they use regularly they don't read it every visit. They have a duty of care to their 'customers' to provide clear information when the T&Cs change.

It's all very well saying I should have done this, done that but all this advice is after the fact. How is the average person supposed to know that companies are allowed to behave in this way. Most people will simply pay the £60 at least I am attempting to take it one or two stages further.

Fair enough but you only got the PCN today and would have been in strong position to win easily at POPLA!

My goodness, research things first...I've never seen someone post that they got a PCN today and already appealed without reading anything, THEN came here.

The reason I filed the appeal quickly was that I was told by a colleague if I had proof of purchase from B&Q then there was a good chance of success - just wanted it done and dusted.

I only came across this place for parking issues after Googling UKPC..... then I started to see what's what.

How daft, what bad advice. Tell the colleague he/she was wrong and where to come if they get one, and not to appeal before reading the NEWBIES thread.

  • Ok chill everybody. The toothpaste is out of the tube and it ain't going back.

The o/p may well fail at popla. If so, there is a risk that the appeals information are disclosed in any later court proceedings. That should inform how any defence is pleaded.

A great point, yet everyone continues to attack OP, for no reason other than their own ego. Ironic.

On the other hand, your passenger didn't leave site, did she/he? ;)You need a SAR to see what photographic evidence they have.
