Might be totally wrong here but I read somewhere that if you buy a 4K tv, then you also need to buy other stuff that is compatible with it
All 4k TV will work with most current delivery options.
The upscale can be poor so regular TV can look pants compared to older just HD TV.
To get the best out of a good 4k with hdr you can need new sources
One to check is what the BBC UHD demo looks like as the BBC have some good live content streamed.0 -
If you dont need or want 4k and want go second hand ive seen quite a few Pioneer Kuro Plasma sets available for less than £2000

After much researching, finally bit the bullet and purchased this TV from John Lewis:
Sony Bravia KDL43WF663 LED HDR Full HD 1080p Smart TV, 43" with Freeview Play & Cable Management, Black
Our broadband is not good enough for a 4K TV, so decided to go for the 1080 option.
As the TV has built in wifi does that mean I will get better performance than using the firestick (which has been misbehaving a bit lately)?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

Not got firestick, Roku here, but I found it made no discernible difference. I use the TV option for convenience though, just the one remote required, switching to Roku when I want something not covered by TV, like my Google picturesEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

If at all possible consider connecting using the LAN port which can be more reliable than wifi and possibly lead to less buffering if your broadband is non too fast to begin with..0 -

What research did you do??
Why did you imagine that you needed fast broadband for a 4k TV? It's not as if you will be forced to stream everything in 4k, it's just an option. You can also download material to watch at 4k resolution.0 -
Thank you, even though I don't understand what you mean:o
I think he means plug in a cable to the router rather than relying on wifiStill striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.
