I don't understand their issue at all

you have paid 4 x £820 so all 4 people regardless of age of adult/child status paid the same.

I would understand if you had paid 3x yyy and 1x zzz

Maybe they just calculate it as 3x yyy + 1x zzz /4 for some odd reason and they are saying it should be 4x yyy which increase the overall cost by €650

Just looked on Expedia and tried to replicate your booking with 3 adults and 1 teen aged 16. Hopefully the screen shots will work.

The family room seems to accommodate your party and cost the booking accordingly. On the second page the pricing breakdown shows an extra person supplement but includes this in the overall price.

I would agree that you have been charged and paid Expedia the correct amount.

Do not pay the hotel. Tell them to take it up with Expedia.

Shysters, you paid in full. Expedia should sort it.
650 euros EXTRA to go from child to adult????

    Following this, its outrageous!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Very helpful screen shots. I never had the opportunity to see the options as per the screen shots. If I had, then clearly I would have made whatever choice to suit and no disagreements.

I do remember on previous page where you see full list of hotel matches to the criteria, there was the click bait 50% off in red letters against Crystal Palace but I'm not sure of exact wording.

Expedia have made the error, I'm expecting them to resolve.
    Thanks again.

Must admit hotel management have been good so far.

I went through the Expedia process to demonstrate when you select the child age and then see the list of hotels showing matches and cost per person.
The manager seems to understand the issue is with Expedia. At least so far ....

It seems the price is the same if you search for 3 Adults & 1 Child or 4 Adults so I can't see any reason to pay the extra.

    Positive news.

Just keep in mind that Expedia does not load the prices.

Depending on how the hotel inventory has been sourced it could be via another third party or (very likely) the hotel themselves. If the latter the hotel manager need to speak internally with whoever at the hotel, or hotel group, is in charge of the Expedia relationship and have access and login to the back end Expedia extranet site. May be called something like the Yield Manager.

The ball may have been dropped closer than you think.

    Good thinking Westin.
However, isn't it the 'seller' who holds the final accountability with the sale of the holiday? IE Expedia?

Does not make for a relaxed holiday at a great location knowing you may be facing 650 Eu supplement. :-(
