    Morning all

    Warm here already today!
WM x 1 swishing, will put on line when it finishes
Window guy been, so good when people turn up when they say they will! Just need to wait for his quote then and get booked in to do the job.
Have a full day of paid stuff today but will fly a bit after work. I have the food shopping list ready but not sure if I will have the energy to go today. May do it first thing in the morning when it’s s little cooler.

Have a lovely day all x

More ((hugs)) for Jazee and Iona. And lots of gws wishes to their respective OHs. I hope Narc0 is ok as well.

Thanks for thinking of me. In the general realm of things I'm fine; just been laid low with a mother** of a cold, which coupled with hayfever and hot weather has been pretty debilitating though I feel a total wimp. So this week has been pretty minimal which was particularly irritating as we go away to Yorkshire for a few days on Sunday and I was hoping to blitz the house, garden etc.

Anyway feeling a lot better today so I have:
    - emptied DW
    - potted up some French beans and snap peas as a 2nd crop to put in the bed currently occupied by broad beans. Not sure if we can finish eating or freezing the latter before we go away, but at least the new plants can go out when we get back.
    - started tidying the greenhouse so helpful neighbour who will water everything while we are away won't get confused or trip over anything.
    - after a lot of messing with uni passwords and special sites (it's only a P60 for **** sake - I don't care who looks at it!) I have completed my online tax return :j
    - started to clear desk ready for a big home office tidy "some time in summer".
    - Printed off receipts and info on the B&B we are staying at next week (will wave to anyone in Harrogate).
    - cc payment set up for while we're away.

At least I am up to date with all uni assessment reports and unlikely to have any more soon. Still waiting to hear whether I've got the next 2yr contract, this one ends July 31.

On the MIL front, we have finally got a really good and helpful SW on our case. She arranged for an OT to go round to MIL's flat with MIL and Mr N; of course despite the frequent clamouring to 'go home', MIL had no recollection of her flat, nor could she tell the OT how she planned to use the bathroom/make tea etc. So although SW agreed that we should give it "one more try" at returning MIL to her flat because that is what she professes to want, we had an email today saying she'd had a report from the OT and has concerns. So more meetings and cognitive assessments in the future, but she wished us a lovely holiday with the knowledge that MIL is safe and cared for in her current care home, and that we definitely need the break. So watch this space; we can't do more than we are doing; we know that but some professionals make us wonder if we are doing right.

There, you don't hear from me for ages then I come back and rant for ages, sorry.
Best wishes to newbies and those struggling with either their own issues or family; there seem to a lot of OH needing extra care at the moment.

Must go and consult my list now.

    Hi all

Paid stuff done, washing in off line, bins in from where they were collected. Think the collectors must have been having a laugh today, I found one of my bins right at the end of a long shared drive and the other at the end of our little row of houses! Oh well, I had a walk in the sun to collect them...

I’ve watered the pots and am now sat in the garden having made the decision that the house is too hot for flying! I will get up reasonably early in the morning and do a swish round everything, DH will go and do the food shop. I am having my hair cut tomorrow too so leaving for that will be my deadline to stop cleaning.

Have a lovely evening all, don’t tire yourselves out, sit and enjoy the sunshine if you have it and you are able to... housework can wait!

    Best wishes to all x

Morning all, only just got up after 10 hours sleep. Obviously needed it but feel really groggy now.

    Hope you're all ok today.

Not a lot of flying is getting done here and I've a busy day ahead, will try to keep on top of dailies.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Still struggling all round and loads to do:

This morning I have made 2 cakes & some fresh orangeade. (I've also cleaned up the kitchen as I went along) living room is tidy apart from a pile of hubby's junk. Dining room is as tidy as it's been for a while, but that's not saying much really.

Need to do a tidy round the other rooms and have a massive work document to write this weekend. Urgh!

    Morning

pity party alert - feel free to ignore:

I held myself together all week at work and now I'm falling apart - got a right 'pity party' going on here - and now I've started to cry, I can't stop. Long story short - I've been put in an office with one other colleague - who is a known trouble maker / busybody and who complains / moans / sighs / snipes continually... and it's affecting my mental well-being (which is always my vulnerable area). I've talked to her and it made a difference for one day, but then she was back at it. The irony is - she likes working with me so much that she withdrew her acceptance of another job, and I'd only agreed to the move because I thought she was leaving! I got up and walked out of the room to save my sanity yesterday afternoon - went to find some other colleagues to have an upbeat chat / laugh with, and she came looking for me saying 'you can't escape from me'. I think she was joking but it was too near the truth to be funny. The fact is: if I'm sat here crying on a Saturday morning I can guarantee I am not going to want to go to work on Monday - and if I make myself go I'm going to be fragile (like explosives are fragile). Then I'll be the one in trouble - and she'll be haring to management to make a complaint because she 'ain't 'avin' it'. There - at least it's out now...

Sorry about that - but it is affecting my flying - I'm exhausted by it all :(

And the contents of the cupboard under the stairs (aka RoD2) have made an escape bid this week  Tumbling out of the door and I can't shove it shut again, :o But, on the bright side :), I knew I had a fly swat somewhere - and, oh look, sheepskin mittens, I forgot I had those, and a boy's raincoat, aged 9/10 years - DS is 26!! :o

I'm drained - but I'm going to flitter. Sitting here feeling sorry for myself is not the answer. And that's the problem - I don't know what the answer is. I have to work to pay the bills. Answers on a postcard please ….

Hugs to everyone having a tough time at the moment. Lots of GWSs to flyladies and their OHs. and a great big I LOVE YOU GUYS from the bottom of my flylady heart.

Thank you Fayolle xx That BiG hug just grabbed me :D I felt it. Just listening (erm reading :)) helps a lot xx

I think I was worn out with coping all week. Tears have stopped now. And I'm hungry - that's a good sign :D So I'm going to make a RL cuppa and some toast.

Whilst kettle is boiling I'll sort Mount Washmore in to loads and set WM swishing with the first load.

    1. Keep a note (written) every time this woman upsets you / says something out of order etc.
    2. Do you have a HR dept? if so go and have a chat to them over the way your are feeling and why you are feeling like this. Tell them it is confidential.
    3. Can you speak to your boss or better still your boss's boss about the problems this lady is causing you / stress.
    4. Can you do an interal transfer?
    5. Update your CV and keep an eye on the job sites in case something comes up.
    6. Do you belong to a union, they may have counselling or similar they can offer you as part of your membership
    6. Chin up, shoulders back, we are here for you. xx

I have hobbled around so far this morning, including the garden so that is an improvement.
OH has sorted the garage under my supervision
Now back on the sofa...................so the plan is, internet wandering, tennis, sitting down ironing, (get OH to carry it all back upstairs when done) and if the sun comes back out sitting in the garden for a short while.

aww Round (((hugs))) from me too. You're away from the place, so I hope your weekend is peaceful.

House is a midden. I didn't leave work until 6:45 last night. On my way out I saw a kid vandalise some barriers put up to keep people away from a wobbly wall. So I emailed my Head because it was not one of our kids (I did rebuke him!) because I rather suspect the Village Hall management committee will (a) be furious and (b) assume it was a Village School child - and it wasn't. I didn't lift the barriers back up in case they fell again and caused a problem.
I really MUST clean the kitchen and bathroom but need to save my energy as I am taking part in a night walk which is a fundraiser for our local hospice along with colleagues from the Refinery in memory of out colleague who dies last year...and my sister, who was a hospice patient.
