I had some back problems and tried quite a lot of different beds, The best for me i found was a lumbar support / mud bed from village waterbeds.
The bed itself is a 99% motionless waterbed but comes with a deep pocket top cover along with a 2" memory foam layer below the 1st topper, It also comes with dual mattress's so you can get it as firm as you like it on your side.
Well priced for the quality,Very happy with both the bed and the service i got.0 -

I can only speak from mine & my families personal experience.
We bought four memory foam different makes recently, priced from £25 to £40 to £50 to £80.
The £50 & £80 are fab, the £40 not great, the £25 was unusable.
This is not snobbery value, in my personal opinion I think £25 is plenty of money for a pillow, let alone £80:eek:0 -
i was in homebase tonight and they have 20% off the silentnight memory foam mattress.0

anyone know anything about King Koil beds/mattresses? I have been quoted £740 for a 4'6 1600 Serenity...does this sound like a good deal? the mattress felt extremely comfy and is pocket sprung with a layer of memory foam. It's more than I wanted to pay but I don't mind paying the money if it's going to last a while and prevent my sore back in the mornings!0

I've been googling it, but apart from a few sites saying that they started in USA in the late 1800's, and that they now have factories worldwide, this is all I've found so far:

I'll cary on searching for you.0 -
An update on the King Koil bed. It appears that King Koil have been bought out by Kaymed. So although Kaymed produce good beds, they are way overpriced.
I did find some information on the Serenity on the USA site for King Koil, and it appears that is a variation on open coil sprung. So I'd say that at £740 it is way over priced, and it is probably old stock if it still carries the King Koil label.0 -
