Renting a Room when you are gay

Sadly those 4ft beds are being squeezed into single rooms, then marketed as double rooms with no room to swing a cat!
I'm guilty of this - I had the room as a single (with a very happy lodger for 4 years) on remarketing the room my other half nagged me to put in a small double in as I wasn't getting much interest and "no one wants a single room"
I changed the bed a week before the old lodger moved out and his comment was it made the room feel so much bigger. The new lodger had seen the add when listed as a single but loved the new bed when she came to view the room and took it on the spot.
Lesson learned 4ft doubles are more popular than a single, no matter the room size!0 -

I accidentally bought a very strange size bed; a 3½ ft bed or 107cm! With an extra 6 inches in length too. Apparently its called a King Single or Large Single. It was advertised as a single bed frame and already taken apart when I picked it up. I didn't notice until I tried to put the regular single mattress on and it went completely through it. Thought I was going crazy! Its quite rare, found in some B&Bs, mostly on the continent. Managed to get a new mattress to fit it but getting fitted sheets was hard work until I found that Electric beds were roughly the same size. All my lodgers absolutely love it!"... during that time you must never succumb to buying an extra piece of bread for the table or a toy for a child, no." the Pawnbroker 1964
