A couple of weeks ago I was offered a 6 month extension to my FTC taking me to December this year. I haven't decided yet what to do. Say "no" say "yes if you pay me more" or just say "yes".0

Do you need to stay on?
If that wasn’t in your plan, I would go with asking for a raise/bonus to do so. Possibly quite a big one!!Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!0 -
No to the first two points but it'd add about £10k to the pot.
Just 6 months more...... hmmm I know where this is heading!0 -
What's your sickness package like, good?
If so, stay ... You never know how current events will unfold.
(said somewhat tongue in cheek!!)How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -

Right, I'm off for a run before I'm told I'm not allowed to leave the house. I shall be hosed down with disinfectant before being allowed back in, and then I shall hide in the downstairs loo, with Chocolate, wine and loo rolls until I hear the "all clear" siren.
In all seriousness, this is starting to get serious. Especially seeing the news from Italy this morning. This could be any of us in 2-3 weeks time folks.
Me and DH are so glad we don't have to go out to work anymore. Mixing with workers and the Air-con. DH was high level management and so he would have had the responsibility for making decisions around all this stuff and the HR nightmare that would ensue.

I am glad I am a homeworker as this situation has meant they have stopped hassling me to visit the office more often - it takes 4 hours on a train plus transit to/from stations and requires an overnight stay so I try to avoid it as much as possible. They have even agreed to do my EOY appraisal by phone so I don't have to put my 'engaged' face on and pretend it's not a pointless exerciseI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Another home worker here and tantalisingly close to retirement, I've decided to switch from equities to Black Rock money markets (actively managed - apparently) and ride out this storm. It's a gamble, I know. But I'd rather miss out on some short term gains than see my retirement date slip into the horizon.0

Hang on to your hats...I think it's going to be a bumpy couple of weeks!!!
We're off to do our usual weekly shop in Aldi this morning. Lets hope it's still business as usual for now.
I'm naturally an "expect the worst and the rest is a pleasant surprise" person...but currently "the worst" doesn't really bare thinking about, and I'm not really sure exactly where the "pleasant surprise" is going to come from either!!
