Sea Shell, I'm interested to know how user-friendly you found the NSI website? I was thinking of transferring some cash to Premium Bonds, but I had read there were problems getting access to withdraw funds if needed quickly.Sea_Shell said:Oh, and our £40,000 of premium bonds are eligible for their first draw next week!!! Fingers crossed 🤞 (for at least £25)
@Audaxer
Buying them was easy, as DH already had an account (with £21 worth!!). We used a debit card.
Have no idea how easy (quick) they'll be to sell, but yes, I've heard some have had problems.
One being that their Santander linked account wasn't recognised....eek!
We previously had a 3 year NS&I bond a while ago, and that matured no problem IIRC.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
Very user-friendly. I transferred my £50k holding out of PBs earlier this year. It hit my linked account the same day.Audaxer said:

Thanks @DairyQueen. Interesting to read that you have transferred the whole £50k out of PBs. Were you not getting the average return you expected from having the maximum holding?DairyQueen said:

Impressive! Think the last time I withdrew some, it was a couple of days. Easy to do, mind 😎👍DairyQueen said:

Mr DQ still has his max holding and his year-on-year return is 0.9%. Can't recall when they reduced prizes with the corresponding reduction in average return to 1% but I think it was late last year (November?).2 -
Yep, I was surprised. I was expecting up to a week.cfw1994 said:

October's figures.
12 month spends to date - £17,050* (including the boiler at £2800), so really £14,250. We're getting better at this spending malarky!!
Total pot value - £638,725 (Oct 20 = £557,174)
Made up of:
DC Pensions - £367,370
S&S ISAs - £214,300
Cash - £57,055 (including £40k PBs)
*Spends as a percentage of Oct 20 pot = 3.06%.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)9 -
It is very kind of you to share actual number. I have considered creating my own thread, but it would be far more rambling, & I’d be a little too circumspect with our actuals 🧐
Great to see the spend going up (albeit still phenomenally low by our standards!!)….
….but the fact that the beach is filling up with more and more shells tells me £22k in ‘22 needs to be an absolute minimum spend, or the tide will never get over the reef you create 🤪
If you have trouble with that, message me for ideas 🤣

Well, are they "actual" numbers or strategically adjusted to "throw you off the scent"!?! 😉😉 🤔
But really, I don't think it's giving much away by saying £638,725 rather than £639,000! 😉How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)3 -
Well done. I notice that you have a lower percentage in cash than I had previously thought. If you care to share, I'd be interested to learn what percentage of spend you are drawing from cash, and what percentage from your investments?Sea_Shell said:October's figures.
