Finally got the gas bill.
It was a bit "messy", but I've balanced it to within 4p of what I was expecting, so I'm happy with that. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)3 -
we left pure planet pretty much cost neutral to start our new fix.
Glad I did as this little gem was on the closing statement:
We are high users but we are not running a hotel - fix is predicted at £3.5k per year so it gives an idea what they are projecting on their variable rate.

How long do we think Santander are going to continue to pay 2% cash back on Energy bills?
I realise it's capped, but its going start costing them £££, as bills go up.
Which other cash back might they switch it with, to be able to maintain the account's 1/2/3 branding? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
I don't think Santander will continue with the 2% cashback. They have been gradually whittling away at the benefits of it over the last few years. The interest on balances went to just 1% (not sure what it is now as we switched to Santander 123 Lite) so they don't seem bothered about maintaining the 123 branding. I reckon they will reduce the cashback to just 1% on all bills eventually.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Good Morning Squirrellers!
Not much to report, but I thought i'd drop in.
Investments seem to have regained some of their recent drops, and our ISA's are only now down about 1.5%, rather than the 5% of a couple of weeks ago.
We had another short UK break away, and got really lucky with the weather, so that was lovely. If the weather holds we may just squeeze another 4 nights away 1st week of November, but we'll see.
Other than that, we've just been in our usual routines (running, walking etc.) and I've just finished my first jigsaw puzzle of the season. It was a charity shop one...but it has a piece missingSo I won't sell on or re-donate, but see if any of my puzzling neighbours want it for free, otherwise I guess it's heading for the recycling bin!

There might be someone on the forum with a spare piece of jigsaw that they could give you.1

We have a Buy Nothing FB group which is very tightly controlled to keep it local and jigsaws are very popular on there. As long as you mark which piece is missing then it would be snapped up here.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Yes, free on FB would be my last resort, before binning.
I have a couple of repeat customers that would probably still enjoy it with a piece missing, if it was free!!
I've just embarked on a 1500 piece one!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1
