The driver never left the vehicle.

The Driver didn't leave the vehicle.
It just comes across as you just wanting to wriggle out of a situation that you were aware you were in from the outset. Correction: Sorry, The Driver knew that The Driver was in.
Why not either accept the consequences or encourage 'the driver' to take reasonable steps to explain that there has been a huge misunderstanding?0 -

A 'P' which usually indicates it's a car park or car parking facility, then. I see.
Easy mistake to make that the land owner might have something to say about the matter.0 -

Only, you didn't want to observe the notice (or terms) at the time of the event and now that they've grabbed you by the short and curlies you are refusing to accept the consequences as well?

Now I suggest you move on with your life or try getting one.
I'll be ignoring any further comments from you so have a nice life!

You might prefer to follow the advice of regular posters on this board, who would not have written the criticism above and would never tell people:''they've grabbed you by the short and curlies you are refusing to accept the consequences...''

In any case, the point is more about the OP knew of the circumstances and deliberately tried to keep off radar. Didn't notice eye in the sky.
