Confusion Over UKPC Parking Charge

Apologies for starting another thread, but I've been reading different accounts/threads/forums all morning and I'm still not clear what the best way forward is.

If the windscreen parking 'charge' notice is ignored, and then the parking company (UKPC) eventually serve a 'final reminder', what is the stance, continue to ignore? write to them? Contact the retailer (whose car park it was issued in) or just pay the what is now a 90-quid parking charge?

If you decide to ignore then you ignore everything they send you except a letter before court action, or actual claim documents sent from the Court

But why not appeal and then if refused you can appeal to POPLA (better than IAS!)

follow the appeal advice in the NEWBIES sticky thread , around day 24, as keeper

a landowner complaint is a good additional tactic, but not as the driver, but as keeper

Day 24, of the initial parking charge? Or the notice?

Have you read the newbies faq thread in this forum? (Towards the top of the forum)

The timescale for sending in your appeals is all set out there.

Yes. As I mentioned in my opening post, I've been on it all morning, and my head's a bit fuddled from it all.

read it again until you understand where the day 24 (24 days after the date of the windscreen notice) comes in

nobody expects you to understand it all in one go, or in a short period of time either, so if yesterday was the date of the windscreen pcn, you have 23 days to understand it

    do not ignore it

only a fool would pay it

    nobody would "write to them"

If you missed appealing after the PCN, appeal now online anyway, now you have a letter. As keeper, using the template.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Appeal using the BPA template in blue around day 22 by post or day 26 online, after receiving a windscreen ticket. You have given us hypothetical information so we can't be explicit with advice unless you tell us what has happened, not what might be happening.

If you have received an NTK through the post then appeal using the BPA template in blue, now.

    UPDATE

UKPC letter in response to appeal is asking for name and address of the driver.

    What now?

    do not name the driver

eventually they will either cancel or refuse your appeal and issue a popla code

this is standard practice, to phish for the drivers details, dont fall for it, do nothing
