From the outset I said that I found the whole thing quite confusing, and so, I started a new thread.

    Thank you for your comment.

    Never mind?

    Well not a big deal:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035663

All this info is on the forum already - when you started your OP by saying 'I've been reading different accounts/threads/forums all morning and I'm still not clear what the best way forward is.' Quentin did say:
'Have you read the newbies faq thread in this forum? (Towards the top of the forum). The timescale for sending in your appeals is all set out there.'

And you did say yes, you'd read it. The NEWBIES thread explained POPLA stage in depth in post #3 and then, in post #4, also covers 'ignoring the debt collector' stage, for those who miss appeal or lose one. NOTHING tells anyone not to try POPLA, no threads say that.

No biggie. Read what's here already. Debt collector drivel is rubbish and Zenith *ARE* Debt Recovery Plus. And YES, you ignore them.

Come back if UKPC try a small claim and you will find we cover that as well. We thought you had read the NEWBIES thread because you said you had when Quentin pointed you to it - and I directed you to read other UKPC threads too. What else should we have said?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Thank you, but do you have a link to a wiki, you know, without the finger pointing/poking/waving/etc?

    That would be most helpful.

    Thanks.

The NEWBIES thread is the "wiki". There isn't a better resource anywhere.

Not trying to be difficult but the links back to examples, or the 'wiki' turn up countless post instructing NOT to start a new thread. Read on, and there are some suggestions to start a new thread dependent on the circumstances.

I've done just that, albeit by starting a new thread as a result of all the confusion from reading the 'start/don't start a new thread' posts.

I can read the countless posts over and over but I do feel as if I'm going around in circles.

In summary, an appeal was made and after that, all correspondence was ignored. Now there is a letter from Zenith Collections. I'm here because I was under the impression this was a consumer help site (among other things).

Already explained by CM a little earlier.

Zenith ARE DRP. Check the light grey text block with address at bottom right of your letter. Or zoom in on this image of a Zenith letter.

Thanks for pointing this out, and I now see it in the footnote on the letter.

I'm still not clear about what to do. Sorry if this appears lazy but the more threads/posts I read, the more confused I get.

Pointed out previously, IGNORE debt collectors.

DO NOT ignore a Letter Before Action (or similarly headed) from either the PPC or their solicitors. Note - debt collectors cannot issue these in the context of private parking tickets.

DO NOT ignore real court papers.
