  • Hi, I requested a SAR, they have asked for my identification. Is this normal and shall I send it? Just want to make sure I am not sending them any additional information that they don't need to know...

Yes it's normal to prove you are the data subject, not a randomer using an email address.

But nothing with your DOB on is needed! No passport or driving licence.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

  • OK, i sent requested the SAR, this is basically all the information they sent (along with pictures of my car with the PCN on it and the letters sent). They sent a letter to my old address on the 22nd Aug, obviously i never got it! Then sent a letter to the right address on the 1st Sept. Not sure why a letter was sent to my old address as i have had my new address on my insurance for over 2 years!

I sent another email as they didnt send a plan of the signs displayed with font size etc! I have requested that they send them to me too.

They would send a letter to your old address if that was the address listed by the DVLA when they accessed your details, meaning the V5C may have been incorrect which is your job to sort out to avoid a possible £1000 fine

Not keeping your V5C and driving licence details up to date is the usual RK failure

I presume this came from UKPPO because you didn't say and your SIP one is a different thread

So you should have said. UKPPO sent, not they sent
  • V5C and driving licence is all at the correct address.
  • I requested the signs etc and they responded with the images, although I'm not sure if they are good enough and whether I can get them on their signage. I'll try post images later.
    Their response was :
'The reason the question were left unanswered is simple because a Subject Access Request, is for the subject to access all personally information we hold on them.

To answer the 2 questions from this E-mail,

    !

Unless the keeper of the vehicle ( keeper details provided by the DVLA) offers the name of the driver, we under The Protection Of Freedoms Act Schedule 4 pursue the registered keeper.I have attached a site plan, along with a copy of the signs we have on this site, Both the site and signs have been and passed by the IPC (Independent Parking Community) Sizes for the signs are on the attached information.

The IPC guidelines for car parks is that where practicable, be placed at the entrance to the site. !Text should be of such a size and in a font that can be easily read by a motorist having regard to the likely position of the motorist in relation to the sign. The colours used on signage should be such that the contrast between background and text makes the wording on the site clearly legible.! You are required to provide sufficient number of signs on each site commensurate with its size and other characteristics to ensure that any parking conditions are adequately bought to the attention of the motorist.

    !

All the above points have been adhered to and I have attached the sign as you enter the site, which states Parking for Permit Holders Only. !I also included a photograph of your vehicle a sign in the background which states, Parking Restricted to Vehicle Displaying a Valid Parking Patrol Permit only.! No parking on Yellow Lines /Hatched/or Landscaped areas.

Do I respond in any way?

No need to respond if they have given you your documents and pictures and data plus additionally pictures of signs plus the outline of their case against you

To rely on pofa for Keeper liability they have to have followed the applicable pofa section and paragraphs

If the signage is forbidding then they cannot offer the Keeper or driver a parking contract in the first place, so with no contract in place it's considered to be trespass and not parking

If the driver has been revealed then pofa isn't relevant

Those are the facts which along with their revelations should help you to decide where this is going and what to fight them in, if anything at all
