Never ring anyone! A 'phone call is not worth the paper it isn't written on, and you can't show it to a judge.
Nobody here will suggest you offer to pay anything. Did you read about the court case posted by beamerguy that was thrown out when the scamlicitors added on a fake £60?
If you have received a LBC then you should not ignore it. You only ignore debt crawlers.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

I'm anxious about the next letter to come through and from what I have read they actually take people to court, I don't know if I can deal with that. What if I ring them up and agree to pay a very very small amount back a month. I am on low income and live alone, I can't afford to pay a lump sum but if I offer like £5 a month, surely they can't refuse?
TIA.
Yes they do take people to court, they try it on but in reality, they
have proven themselves to be very poor and this is highlighted recently

ABUSE OF PROCESS ?????
Whatever you do, do not deal with BWLegal directly, they will bully you.
Going to a county court is no big deal, in the unlikely event that you lost, it is the court that would allow you to pay monthly subject to you proving your income. The court will not be bullied by the likes of BWLegal.
If you win with the help of this forum, you can claim costs, around £95.
Think about it. Your stress level will increase if you start talking to BWLegal so let a judge deal with them0 -

And WHY would ANYONE pay £160, when the £60 is made up?
Which PPC?
Almost every poster here is, as it gets near court stage at least.I'm anxious about the next letter to come through
Yes you can and we will virtually hold your hand all the way.and from what I have read they actually take people to court, I don't know if I can deal with that.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

These are not fines, they are private invoices for the damage the PPC alleges they suffered when, allegedly, you breached a contract they allege you had agreed with them, we call them scams. They only need to be paid if a judge so directs,
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Ok, I have recieved a letter saying
'We have been instructed by UK Parking Patrol Office Limited to commence legal action in the form of issuing a claim against you in the County Court in respect of the above debt. If payment or response is not tecieved before 4 August 2019, we are instructed to issue a claim against you in the County Court without further notice. If you dispute this debt, please tell us why so that we can help resolve this matter'
They have given me an income and expenditure forms.
What do I do next? Will this effect me If i plan to get a mortgage? I don't want any CCJ's against me! I can only afford small payments if anything.0 -

It's a letter before claim
You ignore the forms, none of their business.
No effect on you, it's got to go to court first and if lost, you do what the judge says ... NO CCJ
But, you won't lose and you will be able to claim costs
Does this letter state a figure of £60 above the parking ticket0 -
Do they add on their stupid fees, so £100 becomes £154 or even £160?
Newbies thread, post FOUR.
IF you pay the whole amount off within 1 month of losing - and that assumes you lose! - any CCJ is removed.0 -
Yes, it does add on the £600
-
If you go to NEWBIE sticky post # 2 and read what to do about LBC, you will note that you should submit a SAR to the PPC so that you can find out what they are alleging. Then continue reading to see what happens, when and then read some of the 17 or so defence examples written by Bargepole and Coupon-mad amongst others.ChantillyLace86 wrote: »They have given me an income and expenditure forms.

You will only be "awarded" a CCJ if you go to court, lose and then fail to pay within the time scales dictated by the court.
Also search the forum for the Abuse of Process thread written by beamerguy and commented on by Coupon-mad to see how you might get the case thrown out by the court.0 -
Ok, just read #2, I thought I wasn't supposed to contact BW Legal? Isn't sending them a SAR contacting them?
Also, it says for the SAR ask...
- ALL photos taken
- all letters/emails sent and received, including any appeal correspondence earlier
- if the car park was Pay and Display, ALWAYS ask for a PDT machine record from that day, of payments made (VRNs can be partially redacted but insist on getting this and follow it up if they refuse).
- all data held, all evidence they will rely on, and a full copy of the PCN, NTK
- and a list of all PCNs they consider are outstanding against you and/or this VRN, and remind them that any claim must be for all PCNs in one claim, not several separate claims.
I didn't buy a ticket for my car as I was told by the security filming in the area that i would be fine and other people have parked there too, which they were, I saw there cars? To my knowledge the locations manager had sorted out where crew could park?!
Will this still question in the SAR still apply to me?0
