Moving away from the OPs question somewhat, but should supermarkets be free to 'control' what is sold at certain tills? One of our local supermarkets employs a severely disabled young lady, and she works on the tills. There is a sign on her till stating cards only because she struggles to handle the cash. Is that wrong?

    Their house, their rules.
ETA up to the point that conflicts with the law eg if what they wish to control is the sale of things to "Blacks, dogs or Gypsies"

Eh? Yeah that would make the girl feel great. People refusing to shop there because she's on the tills.

Plenty of other tills no doubt if you have only cash with you. No need for a big statement.

Fair play to her for getting out there and getting on with it.

    I am clearly being sacrastic...

or sarcastic. One of the two.

Any time I've seen it is because the sever is under 18.

If you want to flounce out and make a statement that noone in the store will know or care about, that's your prerogative.

Indeed it is. Because I'm entitled to make consumer decisions.

If my viewpoint is popular that business will suffer, if not then it wont.

Not sure using inflammatory language is necessary...

    Exactly this!

Why not just let business get on with it, why regulate every single aspect.

You accused me earlier or 'name calling' and now there is apparent 'inflammatory language'

I am not seeing either of these things.

Made even more ironic when you look at comms69s posting history and general approach...

Flounce. - there is no need to make out that the decision is somehow throwing a hissy fit. I've provided my reasons.

Feel free to challenge them if you wish.

Whilst I disagree with that, as I do try my best to be polite - whether you agree with what I say or not.

By your logic it's ok to 'lower' yourself to my level. kudos.
