All inclusive nightmare!

Options
Hi all,
First post on the forum!
I’m currently in a hotel which I booked through booking.com all inclusive abroad (not a package unfortunately), however its a nightmare!
It was advertised as a 24 hour bar, which when I got there was only 8am to midnight (this might not sound like much, but it is to me with my sleep pattern ;) )
Plus, the night snack bar has never opened!
The buffet lunch and dinner is mostly inedible, with a lot of the food cold in the middle but hot on the outside. There is mostly nothing for tourists to eat especially kids, you see kids just eat chips which really isn’t on and you can see their disappointed faces

There are quite a few other problems with the hotel, however that is a story for another time 😂.

Do I have any rights as it’s not a package holiday? Or is any compensation the discretion of the hotel solo?

Cheers

JM

Before going straight for compensation, make sure you raise the issue while you are there to give them the chance to resolve it.

Have done, have spoken to the front office manager who said there’s nothing he can do as the description SHOULD have been changed for this year (which obviously is out of my control).

Film everything! Film you taking it up with managers that the service and food does not match the actual promised experience and film the food, film the services that are closed with a time stamp or other evidence of the time, film the overall general disaster so that either now or later you can pursue your money back at the very least.

When you say there is nothing for tourists to eat ,what do you mean?
  • Surely tourists can eat the food? Or were you expecting bacon butties and fish and chips? In which case go to Margate.

Go out for your meals, keep the receipts, then put in a claim when you get home. Make sure you tell the hotel what your doing.

Hi all, I appreciate the replies.
When I mean "tourist food" I mean food that is universally acceptable, not rabbit meat!
    I don't appreciate the cockiness...

I have spoken to Booking.com who have liaised with the hotel, who aren't budging.
Booking.com have offered £25 compensation as a "gesture"
I have been in touch with head office of Best Western to see what they can do.

Taking the inedible food out, is it plausible to think that I should be entitled to the 24 hour bar and snacks bar THAT WAS ADVERTISED AND THAT I PAID FOR?
