I have both and I think netflix has far more and so much easier to navigate. I rarely watch amazon just use it for free postage0

As it happens I do watch some things on Prime Video anyway.
But to answer the OP's question - yes, you can get both Netflix and Prime for monthly payments. (Netflix only offers monthly payments AFAIK). And you can get free trials of both.0 -

So you would need to get a monitor to view netflix/prime as long as you didn't have a receiver you would be okay without a licence0
