And in hindsight you should have notified the insurer, after all you remember the day well, to park 100% carefully, you are sure you didn't hit that car the same car that the driver left a note on your car, you probably thought you didn't hit the other vehicle, and according to your logic, what you think must be correct.

Yes, with reviewing the footage that i kept back home, that helps me to be 100% sure I didn't hit any car in the car park. But that actually help me make an judgement that there is no need to notify the insuer at that time because there is no incident at all because i thought it was a scam.

Just to ask ... Sorry if I missed it up thread...

Do you know where on their vehicle they are claiming the damage is??
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

I don't know. But according to my insurer, the other party have photo evidence of my passenger side touch it (paint transfer?).

The other party believes you are liable to damage to their property.
The other party does not think they are trying to scam you.
The other person believes you may wish to admit liability or resolve this without the need for insurance company involvement.

I can not guess nor stop what the other party think. I make a judgement base on the information i got on the day.

And that extends to you cannot guess or stop what your underwriters may do regarding that episode either.
They could offer the other party a few hundred quid and the other party is happy to accept that, your insurers could decide there isn't a claim against your policy, who knows?

Yes, this could be a likely outcome. But this sounds like an easy game for false claimers.

Could it possibly be door on door damage??? As your dash cam footage wouldn't show anyone alighting from your vehicle.

Oh come on! The OP didn't think that so it isn't a possibility :rotfl:

It doesn't sound like a fruitful proposition for a scammer, the time it takes and the gain (I'm no scammer but it doesn't seem lucrative.)
The 3rd party would have a claim incident recorded on their file.
They may receive no cash just a dink repair, so sorry I don't see the scam.
