OVO Simpler Energy Variable help

When my last company was taken over by OVO and my energy switched to them I didn’t pay too much attention.
My direct debit stayed the same but because my usage is apparently more than the DD they suggest. I’m now in -£200 debit! After only a few months with OVO.
I’ve always changed companies at the end of every year to keep my costs down but I’m thinking of switching mid-year due to how much this is costing. Only problem is the debit. I don’t want to owe £200 when I switch. What do you suggest? Live like a cave person and just go without electric to claw back the debit?

Have you given frequent meter readings .Is the bill/ DD based upon estimates or actual readings .


Is their a penalty to leave Ovo ?

You should only be billed for what you use - as already asked are the bills based on Actual or Estimated readings? Are you providing readings?
If the bills are actual, then increase the DD to repay the debt - when cleared do a comparison and switch to the best tariff for you.
