I don't know. 10 isn't as much as 50 is it. Did you fight in the Vietnam war, get successfully sued by a burglar who broke into your home & tripped over a kid's toy, receive anti-white racism to a point where the police advised you to move home, were you a witness to a crime that resulted in you being stalked by a serial killer for years, and during those years did you live in extreme areas such as the most lower or upper class neighbourhoods where the locals had never communicated with people from different backgrounds to their own, have you survived a plane crash or been attacked by a shark, ditd you win the euro-millions?
Just because someone might have experienced more extremes in life than yourself doesn't mean they're lying or delusional. A person who goes to a different cafe every day is more likely to encounter different situations than a person who goes to one & has the same routine. Bad example, but I'm sure you'll point that out for me
Yeah but, here’s the thing, I could describe my life in a way that sounds really unusual and interesting too. Most people could. Interesting is ordinary, you are not special, why on earth would you be?
I have won the euromillions actually, probably a similar amount to what you won based on your post about needing lodgers!
I like a good story as much as the next person, but just tell a funny story, people will chuckle, no need to big yourself up in the style of David Brent or Alan Partridge in the process! It’s embarassing!0 -

Go ahead! I'd love to hear it!
I wish these lodgers were unusual & that the norm was quite different! :cool:onwards&upwards wrote: »you are not special, why on earth would you be?
I don't think I am! But I do have some special stories, that are unfortunately trueonwards&upwards wrote: »no need to big yourself up in the style of David Brent or Alan Partridge in the process! It’s embarassing!
I actually don't tell the more interesting stories I've been through, for good reason. The stories are the more mundane ones that I tell just to keep myself sane. I've been through enough in this life that I don't really suffer embarrassment any more.. whether that's a good or bad thing is a matter for debate!0 -

Do tell us all about these experiences, that would make fascinating reading.;)0 -

So if you have fought in the Vietnam War you are pretty old then, so your claim of living in 10 different houses is even more normal in such a long time frame.
You seem to be missing the point, the reason i'm saying your delusional is because you seem to think you have experienced a lot in your life that is out of the usual but in reality that isn't true. You seem to have lived a pretty normal life but have some kind of need to feel like you have had a more unique and interesting life than other people.
I suggest you get out more and talk to more people, almost everyone will have a story in their life as interesting as your most interesting story. Then maybe you will get some perspective once you realise your life isn't that unique.0 -
Perhaps we should all give one or two of our stories/anecdotes to illustrate the point?
Shall I start?
We got married the same week as Charles and Diana and we won a wedding competition to have our photos taken with them, which we did. We are still married!
My mother knew Bill Clinton when he was a Rhodes Scholar in Oxford in 1968 and I met him several times.0 -
It's not the just the part where you thought people only lived in a few houses in their life that makes you delusional.
You seem to think that you are unique because you have had lots of different jobs, worked from home and moved 10 times in your life.
If like you say I had different jobs & moved only 10 times I don't think that would be particularly unique
You're entitled to your opinion regarding my grip on reality, but bearing in mind your knowledge of my personal life, I'll take your opinion with the weight it deserves. I probably should be delusional by now, particularly after reading your posts!0 -

The fact you think this is comparable to winning the jackpot on euromillions or being chased across the country by a serial killer is either depressing or illustrates which one of us is delusional:rotfl:
Carry on de-railing the thread0 -

The irony of informing someone their life is "pretty normal", when you know almost nothing about them, is apparently wasted on you
Thank you for the compliment though, I really wish it were true0
