Day in the Life of Bob - hiring a weekly cleaner

Thanks for your post!
Lovely & added a sense of positivity to my day.
I must admit those weren't my words, but repeated from people close to me. You're right. I guessed that most "people" don't live in for example, 20 or so abodes in the space of 2 years. However, perhaps you're right and the majority live in more- presumptuous of me to assume my experience is that unusual.
Those close to me in life must also be wrong- it's much more likely that you, a stranger on the net, knows me better than most! Thanks again for your post.
No you guessed that most people only live in two houses.
Bizarre..0 -

Bizarre..
I have corrected said post. I didn't mean literally 2, but perhaps "a few" would have been more accurate. It's my fault for not realising that out of a post of perhaps a thousand words (wait, was it a thousand?), that an estimate would be taken literally. Thank you for noticing that bizarre detail.0 -

I accept your apology0 -

I didn't say "only", I said "perhaps".
I didn't mean everyone literally moves 2 times in their lifetimes. Perhaps I should have applied to the detail police for that figure, before being so thoughtless to post it on the 'rants' part of an online forum? You're right, I'm delusional! Okay.. correction coming up:
According to the independent (I hear you saying "not a reliable source", thank you in advance):
"On average, people typically move three more times before they are 45"
Plenty more figures on there, of which my personal figures would appear to be around ten times..
I have never accused a stranger I don't know of being 'delusional' on a forum yet in my life- so in this regard, you've experienced more than me. Thanks again!
It's not the just the part where you thought people only lived in a few houses in their life that makes you delusional.
Just look at what you said again:I do a lot in my life, some people say I live the life of several people rolled into one- I've moved home so many times & lived in so many different areas & varied cultures, done extensions or hired professionals for so many tasks, and done many of them myself.. but also I've had many different types of careers & jobs... In some of my 'work at home jobs' I do live 100% of my time in the local area and have to integrate (where most people only work 9-5 at work then experience evenings at home doing nothing)- so I am exposed to a lot more in society than your average Joe. Each day is different. Most people would perhaps live in one or two houses in their lives, or extend their home once to accommodate family. Alas I seem to have had to do these things many more times than most !
You seem to think that you are unique because you have had lots of different jobs, worked from home and moved 10 times in your life. That isn't really anything special and that's why you seem delusional.
You seem to have experienced a pretty average life from what i have read on here, but you seem to want to make out your some how extra experienced and cultured.
I know a family that have moved 10 times at least this year alone but they certainly wouldn't claim to be "exposed to a lot more in society than your average Joe".
You post threads titled "Day in the Life of Bob" as if you have some kind of amazing story but it just normal everyday stuff.
From one of your other threads you seem to be in financial difficulty and have no choice but to have lodgers; but how could a person who is so experienced at life fail so badly :rotfl:0 -
I quite like this
"where most people only work 9-5 at work then experience evenings at home doing nothing"
I know/have known very few people that live/have lived like this
Not sure Bob knows much about the real world at all0 -
I think you seem a bit delusional thinking you have experienced a lot more in your life than most.
You think people only live in one or two houses their entire life :rotfl: . If someone only lived in two houses their entire life that would be their family home then they would move out into a house that they would live the rest of their entire life?. This would be extremely rare and most people move many more times than that.
I was reading up about "Sonder" recently and that is defined as "the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own".
It seems you haven't experienced that yet.
Indeed.
I will admit to having a pretty ordinary life but even a fairly dull life has enough happening in it to come up with loads of anecdotes or spin it as unusual if you want to.
I mean, i’ve just counted in my head and i’ve lived at 11 different addresses and had 10 different jobs, why aren’t my friends constantly telling me how fascinating I am!?! :rotfl:0 -

I don't know. 10 isn't as much as 50 is it. Did you fight in the Vietnam war, get successfully sued by a burglar who broke into your home & tripped over a kid's toy, receive anti-white racism to a point where the police advised you to move home, were you a witness to a crime that resulted in you being stalked by a serial killer for years, and during those years did you live in extreme areas such as the most lower or upper class neighbourhoods where the locals had never communicated with people from different backgrounds to their own, have you survived a plane crash or been attacked by a shark, did you win the euro-millions?
Just because someone might have experienced more extremes in life than yourself doesn't mean they're lying or delusional. A person who goes to a different cafe every day is more likely to encounter different situations than a person who goes to one & has the same routine. Bad example, but I'm sure you'll point that out for me0
