    Happy FriYAY :D

Last night shift to do tonight before 6 days off, i can not wait.

    Target Update:

    - No C*sta - Smashed it!
    - NSD target was 10, got 7 but not really tracked as much as i could.
    - Mum debt halfpay - not exactly:rotfl: although will be making a payment today and hoping that over next few weeks it will be cleared.

All in a good month, i have been very aware of spending when i don't need to and managed to keep myself honest and not go wreckless. A few unplanned days out but not too spendy. I have worked on this months budget and after all minmum paymentsand regular outgoings i should have aprox 250 to throw extra at the debt so lets see.

Not really thought about my targets and aims for this month just yet. Also got to speak to VM as they have totally messed up the order and whilst what i was sold was a good (if thts possible nowadays) deal i am not getting what was promised so now not really sure if to cancel and just not bother with it, although i do watch alot of sport most other stuff is done via netflix/amazon and catchup so not sure.

Hope you all have a fab weekend.

    Hey All,

Hope you all had a fab weekend.

Back to Monday we are :) been a busy few days getting some stuff in house sorted. There hasn't been any NSDs but these are already in the budget so not really spent anything i didn't expect to. All the direct debits and planned debt payment minimum payments have come out so will update signature and figure shortly, need to work out as made a few extra payments through month and need to tally up totals

CCJ Debt paid £30 - New balance £88.16(hoping to clear this this month)

Mum paid £50 - New balance £350 (hoping to clear in full this month with partner income in middle of month)

Other Debt payments £100. There is a few direct debits due out on 1st so once this has happened i may be able to put more to it.

    Other Targets

Run: I have not managed to do this unfortunately due to issue with leg in middle of month this has now fully healed so hopefully start running again in a couple of days.

Shopping: Meal plan properly. I have got better at this but does need more work, also need to try get a better grip on the random top up shops but this is work in progress.

All in all another good month the figure is coming down rather than up. Also started to think about *whispers* xmas.....and put a bit away. Emergency fund now at £50, my way of thinking as totally transformed. Bring on the next few months when some stuff paid off frees up a little extra in budget. I will feel better later in month when it feels like i have cleared two big debts

    Bring on August

    Evening All,

Not really much MSE wise to report, last few days have been spent just enjoying some time with partner and daughter just trying to get some time together on my days off :) My rota has just be hectic last few months which mean very little down time.

I went out to shopping centre earlier to have a day out and managed to restrict myself from going mad even though i had money to. There are deffo a few luxuries that i would like but not worth getting into debt for. I did buy new trainers but these were budgeted for and well overdue haha.

    New Targets

    - Eat healthy and regular as well as increase fluid intake - I weighed myself today and did some research and figure shows i am well underweight which isn't a shock given how my life is with work atm but i gotta get some self motivation.

    - Try not panic to much about debt - This is silly as i am trying to focus on paying it off, but i am causing myself stress at how quick to get it paid. I have to realise that as long as i do everything right it will go but is going to take time.

    - Compile Bucket List - I seen a journal type book today and it made me realise that i should live for today and create memories.

    - I have a diary (not very me haha) however this will allow me to have all my stuff organised, at the minute i have a rota, my footy fixtures calendar, family events calendar. Also got a book thats like a little budget book so will allow me to track spends

I have set myself a goal of been as close to debt free as possible in the next 12 months, which is the 1st time i have really put a date down but hoping i can now track my payments to know an exact figure. I am going to go through and setup a payment plan with all creditors so its coming down of every account monthly and then overpay one every month. Hopefully this mean i will then be able to put some aside for annuals and put me in a better position :)

Sorry for the long post....i need to update here more

PS I have always wanted to learn guitar so this is also something intend to try fit in haha.

Sounds like a good plan. It is a slog but it's only a year or so. Like dieting if you have a bad week don't panic just get back on with it the next week
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

Before I was just paying and not really had an end target date, at least this way I can set an amount that gets me close to the target that I am comfortable with and then overpayments can flow in as well.

This sounds daft but I am also very aware that live is there to be enjoyed as well and we have had times where as a couple before the little one come we were surviving on scraps with no family help so part of me wants to enjoy some nice things too...that sounds selfish right??

If you completely locked down spending then you will build frustration and the whole project will go bang. A little controlled release keeps it all boiling along.

I could tighten up a lot but I tried to do too much previously (which ended badly) so I can live with a little overspend

Definitely agree with this, I think if you restrict yourself too much, then you start to resent the debt paying process and then you aren't really 100% all-in with it :)
