To everyone I was am Up set, confused and I really thought the management would help. I’m not being lazy, I do find it difficult to understand this sort of Technical stuff. I’ve got 6 days to pay before it rises to £100. I’m still making my mind up as to what to do. The info given recently is very helpful. For someone like me who has no knowledge of this sort of stuff, has never used a forum before and I’m not a great academic type person, it’s a struggle. Thanks for your help... I may need more than most but would appreciate it. I’m going to try and beat these ba#%^*+}^
YAY!!! Awesome! :j0 -
"I’ve spoken now to shopping centre management and they say as I parked illegally there’s nothing they can do".
Which shows that the person you spoke to is miss-informed or just a lazy idiot.
You have done nothing illegal, and the land owner or company that contracted the PPC can cancel the invoice, that's like saying you employ a plumber but can't tell him to change the colour of the taps.0 -
Thanks for this it’s slowly becoming clearer but I’ve spoken now to shopping centre management and they say as I parked illegally there’s nothing they can do. Signs are up, they are there to be read. It’s my fault, they can’t do anything. Even the agree I moved after 7 minutes and parked in a correct space for the further 1 Hour 20 minutes-ish.
Do I now appeal. That’s what they’ve said I should do.
Yes, appeal before the deadline.
However the landowner complaint ain't over! And it is a separate thing that is worth persevering with. If you spoke to someone on the phone you must now put your complaint in writing (email) to the landowner's CEO.
If you've not yet identified who they are, post the name of the centre here and we may be able to help. But google 'xxxxx (company) CEO' too .... it's not usually too difficult to find them.0 -
Want to post photo off my iPad on here but can’t do it. Clicking photo icon asks me for http:// address. It’s just stored on my iPad. Photo of sign that was right near were I parked. Anyone help please. Is there a way to post photos without a link.0

You have to use a hosting site such as imgur, dropbox etc. Post your photo on that site and they give you the URL. Since you've been a forum member for a while you should be able to post the URL direct but if the forum prevents you, just post hxxps://....... and one of the regulars will convert it for you.0

You just don’t get it I don’t understand all the jargon. OP? Etc. Talk is simple language like a lot of the others are now doing and it helps a lot. You obviously do this a lot, are legally trained or some such. I’m not. I am totally out of my depth.thanks for your help but please keep it simple.0 -

That’s a shame I don’t use any of them. I wanted to share a photo of the signage. What a shame.0 -

I know what your saying and agree but the management has said no. I can’t fprce them. I had strong words with them but they said they wouldn’t clear it.0 -

May as well defend if the parking firm send a claim. Absolute scammers.
Solicitor friend is wrong. There is no CCJ risk. We do this every day.
I repeat - only a mug with more money than sense would pay PCM after coming here. The example defences in the NEWBIES thread show how to beat a private PCN in court.
I never mentioned anything about ccj’s nor did my friend. It’s the risk of losing that’s very high in his legal opinion simply because the sign is right there, I’m on hatched lines, apparently block road, dangerous. Morally, they should not fine me.0 -

While I understand the general sentiment I do think this is a tad harsh.
I've said before on here that, for some, just getting the issue dealt with (even if that means paying) may be the best thing for them. As I said I was going through a difficult time earlier this year and, whilst I am usually up for the battle, I may have paid up just to ease the pressure on me.
I do get that is against the general ethos of this forum (and is part of the M/O of the PPCs) but we don't always know what is going on in folks lives
Note. This is not to say that I believe the OP should pay up. I'd actually go with MistyZ's suggestion of writing to the CEO of the car park explaining simply what happened ((you've articulated it clearly on here) and asking them to cancel
And it is not to say that I think most people should, either!0
