Posted our passbooks to local branch (using their stamped addressed envelope) on Monday 27th April.
Wife and I received funds this morning around 9am, thanks to Barbara, our former Saffron BS manager.

I sent mine off on the 14th and half expected them to return it saying “too early” but it arrived safe and sound this morning!

Mine turned up in my bank account at 1pm so those without so far don't give up hope yet.0

Combined with an essential expedition into town to get food and medicine, I went into my local Virgin Money Branch Today for my matured RS 16 and the money arrived in my current account this afternoon

This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -
My transaction request forms that I was told last week had been sent out never arrived and for some reason Virgin won't let me move my funds to an online easy access saver I already hold with Virgin. So looks like I will have to make a trip into branch tomorrow. when they are open (would have gone today but didn't realise the reduced opening hours). Not ideal!0

Mine turned up about half three this afternoonI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

I'm still annoyed that I paid my extra interest back but have been taxed on it by HMRC - I did complain, but they didn't seem to understand the issue. I've chased it up more than once.
On the early issues of the VM regular saver there was a glitch whereby they paid out double interest on the maturity date..
There was a process that involved withdrawing the interest at a specific point in time but this has now been corrected.
In my opinion keeping double the interest that was meant to be paid is theft.RG2015 said:@Frogletina, Thank you for this information. It is good to know in advance how HMRC might treat issues like this. I hope you are successful in getting this corrected.
I guess with hindsight it would have been better to let VM correct the error themselves. However I do recall reading that they had asked some people to pay back the money. If this was the case with you it is doubly annoying.
With this new information I should withdraw my opinion that this is theft. HSBC paid me a double switching bonus and when I informed them they told me to keep it. I felt it was wrong so it went to charity.
I was also given compensation not only for the error that was made, but also that I had made previous complaints about it which had not been dealt with.
Thank you RG2015 for encouraging me to persue this againNot Rachmaninov
