Hey DITR,Just caught up on the last few days of diary land
Firstly I am so glad it is good news on your SIL, and love the storm pic! Absolutely love thunder/rain its strangely relaxing. I agree with others re the work situation, kinda plan for the worst but hope for best. Although it does seem your in a fairly peacefully place in your mind about the whole situation so that is a positive.
Re the sleep pattern we always struggled too - and still do have the odd hiccup with the little one even though she now is in a much better routine, when she was the same age as your little one we reduced the naps which whilst some days I wondered why hahaha but over time it eventually worked. It sounds like your making good progress with it though.Keep ploddingx

Thank your for the lovely comments about SIL, we're all so grateful that she seems to be one of the 'lucky' ones are there is a horribly high rate of mortality in the first year and she's now 11 months on from diagnosis and surgery. There are many side effects she's dealing with and life as she knew it has disappeared but she does her best to make the most of her good days and hopefully she has many more of them to come.
We've had a quiet weekend as DH is still under the weather, took both boys for a playdate and ice cream yesterday and got several loads of washing done and sat out in the garden while the boys played. DS2 seems to be settling better at night too, been asleep by 730 the last 3 nights
The car got through it's MOT without any issues, still waiting on the bill but as it includes a service and replacing 2 brake pads (we requested this ahead of the MOT) I'm expecting it to be around £350.
Got £50 refunded from Hoseasons onto the now closed A$da credit card but nothing else yet. I made 5 separate payments using 3 different cards and this is the only 1 to come back so far (although I think we lose the deposit, need to double check the t&c's). One of the other payments was also on the closed credit card so once this is refunded I'll contact the card issuer to request they pay the funds by bank transfer as the card balance was zero prior to this.
I've acquired a junior size football goal for the garden, my friend was giving it away so I snapped it up! Gave a few pounds to her boys despite her protests so my boys have enjoyed a kick about in the garden before bed this evening. Also, as I worked from home on Friday I've transferred another £4 to savings seeing as I've had no parking costs again. This week sees me in the office Mon-Wed then am using up some outstanding holidays so won't be back in the office until 7 September!
This will enable me to make a fuss of DS2 who turns 2 on Thursday and then, all being well, get DS1 settled back in at school. DH also has a few days off in the middle of my holidays so we're aiming to have a couple of trips to local wildlife parks/petting zoo's, weather permitting. I'm also planning to go through all of our wardrobes and seeing if we need any new bits for autumn/winter so that I can put a list together. DS2 should be fine as there's plenty of DS1's outgrown clothes in the loft but I'm not sure about the rest of us.
Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend, take care x

Work done until 7 September 👏👏 managed to get up to date with almost everything, had to leave 2 tasks with my colleague but overall I'm happy I've finished with everything in order given how reactively we're having to work at the moment as I can safely say I'm a planner and an organiser so I'm finding it hard to work in the opposite manner but I guess I'll have to just get on with it for the foreseeable future.
Managed free parking all week again and obviously off tomorrow so have sent a total of £16 to savings this week as a result of this.
DS2's presents are wrapped, balloons & banners are up so looking forward to having a fun day with him tomorrow. Having a small tea party with his 3 youngest cousins and his Grandma's tomorrow so he'll enjoy having all his favourite people in one room 🙂
Still haven't had my bill from the garage so will pop in there tomorrow or Friday but our budget is holding up well with only 7 days until I get paid. We're still not going far or shopping much so money definitely seems to be stretching.
Hope all's well with you all xx2 -

Thank you both, he had a wonderful day & was very spoiled (in our eyes anyway).
The tea party was lovely and the rain held off long enough for the children to play in the garden for a while. Various other family members also visited throughout the day so it's been good to see everyone.
Both boys slept 11 hours last night but look exhausted today so we've just been out for some groceries this morning and called in Costalot for coffee & juice before coming home. We're having a lazy afternoon watching TV and playing with new toys.
Mum is getting a new cooker delivered tomorrow so we're heading over to her house when DH finishes work to disconnect her existing cooker and move it outside for collection.
We're then hoping the boys will have an early night as we're hoping to have a takeaway and a couple of glasses of wine tonight while watching a film.
In money news I've cashed out £5 from Shoppix today so that's heading to the savings, as well as £4.72 in current account awards received.
No bill from the garage yet as our mechanic has been away this week so will have to go round next week to get this paid.
No plans for the weekend just yet, would be good if we could get out as a family for a while but the weather's not looking great.
Take care all x3
