Thanks @savingholmes
Well that's the end of my first week back, been a strange week & honestly speaking I haven't fully got my head around all the changes but I have a notebook full of reference points and I'm sure I'll soon be up to speed. I'm happy enough with what I've achieved and it's been good to get back in to the work routine.
The week was thrown off kilter somewhat Tuesday morning when I fell down some steps while holding DS2 😲 To save him I took the brunt of the fall and ended up with bruises all over my right leg & arm and then yesterday I woke up covered in muscle pain all over, this then manifested itself as a migraine so I took myself off for an early night around 7pm last night and thankfully woke up feeling much better this morning. Fingers crossed my 2nd working week will be much less dramatic & thank goodness for working from home the last 2 days as I've been able to sit with my leg elevated on the sofa with a hot water bottle to soothe the aches!
YouGov money arrived this morning and has been transferred to savings, OnePoll still on its way. Also sold another item item on eBay, will only end up around £2 in profit on this but every little helps, it's another item decluttered from the house & I'll get a few extra steps in taking it to the post office 😉
Plans for tomorrow are to do a food shop as we're a bit low on supplies & then spend the afternoon playing with the boys as I've really missed hanging out with them this week between work and feeling sorry for myself.
Hope everyone is well x4 -
Blimey, glad that you are ok.

Ouch to the bruising, I slipped and fell all the way down the stairs in my mum's house once when I was holding my nephew (he's 19 now (!) but was only about 2 at the time). 😱 It's amazing how instinctive it is to wrap yourself around the baby to save them and it's you that gets all bashed.
Hope you're feeling better, Beanie is right, arnica is a god send, I use the cream on DS as he's always running into things!
Well done on the survey payouts and the weight loss. 😃Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.3 -

Thanks all, got a fairly decent sleep last night so that's helped. I've never tried Arnica but happy to try anything as my shin in particular is a mess, will pick some up while I'm out today. I've also ordered a memory foam mattress topper which is being delivered tomorrow. Our mattress has been a bit uncomfortable for a while, it's only 2 years old and we already made the company replace it as it was quite expensive but it's still not great and feels even worse with my current aches and pains. Hopefully the topper will help, its one recommended by my brother so hopefully it works for us. The unexpectedly high earnings from ebay this week can go towards paying for it as opposed to moving to savings.2

Ooh sorry to hear about your fall, I did the same when my ds1 was a few weeks old and bobsleighed down the stairs(inside) on my back, thankfully was just bruising but it can be very sore!
Well done on the payouts, I seem to lose motivation with YouGov as it takes so long to build up, however I am trying to get it paid by Xmas x

Thanks for popping in @Lookafterthepennies2020 good to see you 🙂
It seems to be a rite of passage to have a big fall while holding a child doesn't it?
I've managed to do the grocery shopping with the boys in tow, wasn't too painful so looks like I'm definitely on the mend. Have arnica on my bruises so hopefully that will help too.
I may have also picked up a bottle of
wine to have with tonight's fakeaway 😉 we're having a SW salt & pepper chicken this week, can't wait!
I've also taken a deep breath and sent £500 to the credit card so we're now in the £3k's! I'd been thinking about it for a few weeks and the budget seems to be holding up well this month.
CB is due in on Monday then I get paid next Friday (which will include 2.5 wks full pay 👏) so as long as we keep spends in check for the next week we should be fine.
Right I'm off to update my signature...3 -
I will be following along
Mine was worth it for the glory as my 9yo now refers to it as when I "saved his life" not dramatic in the slightest
Ooh I love a good slimming world fakeaway, well done on the OP x
