The excitement of having hot/uninterrupted drinks is very underrated. 😂 It's always just as I sit down with a new cup of tea that one of the kids starts crying or there's a crash that needs to be investigated. 😩 I do reheat the tea in the microwave but it's just not the same!
Well done on everything you got done. 🍻Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.2 -
Good evening
A quiet and wet day here, largely spent organising tomorrow's grocery deliveries as all 3 households seem to need lots this week - going to take an age to sort it all when it arrives tomorrow!
The boys and I have had an arts and crafts afternoon - lots of paint, glue, sequins, glitter, etc. Bit of a mess but lots of fun, the bath water was interesting this evening
High chair collected so £10 sent to the savings pot.
Have hit the £5 payout on Shoppix, just waiting for that to hit my Paypal account before moving on to savings.
Also bit the bullet and increased my pension contributions with my employer. It's been on my mind for a while as I've now been working part time for 4 years since having DS1 which has had an obvious impact on the amount paid in, there's just always something else needing our money isn't there?
As a starting point, I've used the Dave Ramsey Baby Step guidance of investing 15% of income - my contributions are 9% and my employer is 6%. Ideally I'd like this to be higher but will reassess in the future depending on job security, debt/mortgage paydown & potential salary increases

Well done on the pension - it opens options for the future. Craft day sounds fun too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Shoppix money has cleared so popped that into the savings pot.
Just got off a call from work, furlough extended until end of June although I may get a call to go back slightly sooner depending on referrals to our contract.
DH came home from work yesterday with the news he had been tested for CoVid19 - 7 confirmed cases with frontline staff has led to 20 more staff self isolating so DH and the other support staff, along with frontline staff were all urged to get tested. He was able to get a slot straightaway so just waiting on the results now.
Got the weekly groceries yesterday, had to pop to Lidl for a couple of bits that were out of stock at Asda. Definitely not a NSD but today will be, as was Tuesday (online grocery shopping didn't leave my account until yesterday) so now at 12/30.
ZipZero have also announced they should be able to process all outstanding payments in the next few weeks so that'll be some money paid off my water bill & I can transfer the equivalent cash to savings 👌3 -
Hope DH and his colleagues are okay. I imagine it is a worrying time for you all.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks @savingholmes DH has just had his test results back - negative thankfully. His colleagues are relatively well, mild symptoms at worst, hope it stays that way.
We've just had a quiet couple of days pottering around the house & garden
while he waited for the results just in case. DH had some WFH tasks he could get in with and the boys have kept me occupied as usual 😉
Another NSD today (13/30). My payday next Friday and the budget is holding up so all ticking over nicely, good but boring!
Hope everyone else is well xx3 -
Just cashed out £6.24 from Prolific & completed 2 short surveys on OnePoll - only 5p away from cashing out on here, I hope they don't keep me waiting too long! 😁3

Good morning, here we are at the start of another week...
The weekend has been low key & fairly relaxing.
Saturday morning was spent doing a few chores around the house as it was raining. Just after lunch the sun came out so we had a drive out and ended up at a park where we spent a couple of hours walking and playing before having a chippy tea. 😋
The boys made a card for DH yesterday & we filled a gift bag with his favourite snacks & beers which DH was pleased with. I made us a cooked breakfast as a treat and also made a roast dinner (both DH's favourites) so he's been very spoiled.
I needed some new underwear & jeggings & DH needed new slippers as our existing ones were looking very sad so I drove to a nearby town yesterday afternoon and managed to get some replacements at Mata!an.
So no NSD's over the weekend but happy with what we've spent.
Sold 2 pairs of DS2's outgrown shoes in eBay yesterday so need to post those today, should end up with around £10 profit to add to the savings pots.
Unbelievably the boys are still asleep 👏 so I've managed to peg a load of washing out, unload the dishwasher & put both machines on a cleaning cycle already!
Will have a walk out with the boys & Mum later (can post the shoes while we're out) & then spend some time with DS1 working on his phonics & practicing writing, we've set up a 'pretend school' in our hallway so DS2 can't bother DS1 while he's doing his little tasks set by school - just a small chair & table but I've stuck up a picture of the school logo along with some pictures DS1 has made recently & he loves it so it's working well in helping him to keep up with the basics before hopefully starting reception in September.
Hope everyone is well x3 -
Woohoo just hit the payout threshold on OnePoll - only taken 14 months!!!
Still free money is free money & that's £25 for the savings pots once it arrives 😉
From a sunny start, it's more changeable weather here now, had a few showers so not been out yet.
DS2 needs a nap soon so once he's asleep I'll leave DS1 with DH as he's working from home today and pop out to post the shoes.4
