Glad things are settling into a routine. We are planning to get the last of DS's stuff from uni at the weekend so I will probably need to fill up for the first time since mid March!

  • Thank you @savingholmes it will feel odd filling up with petrol after all this time, certainly much cheaper than March 😉 hope you have a safe journey.

I finally got my half hour to myself this morning, I was up at 6 & the boys were up at 630 so a lovely interrupted coffee was very much enjoyed ☕

Quiet couple of days entertaining the boys as DH had been working ridiculously long hours, he's taken a Flexi day today to recover.

I've managed to fit in a few meetings with work to cover some training and preparation for reopening our office for the elements of our work that must be done customer facing, I must say they've been very on the ball with it all which is a big surprise.
My furlough is being extended by at least one more week.
When the government announced the plans for the support bubbles on Thursday, our Mums nearly burst with excitement. Due to their ages we've left any decisions up to them but they're both desperate to be with the children and be more involved with family life so as of tomorrow my Mum will be joining forces with us & MIL will do the same with BIL/SIL & their young children. Really looking forward to giving Mum a big hug tomorrow & the boys will be overjoyed. We'll still be super careful with all the rules so hopefully we'll continue to keep any risks to a minimum and we've all said if Mum/MIL become uncomfortable or change their minds then we'll fully respect that.
This will make going back to work much easier when it happens, I'll still be able to WFH but this will be combined with at least one day a week in the office to fulfill contractual obligations. Will be nice to get back to full pay too 😁
Hope everyone is well, stay safe xx
  • A couple of unnecessary spends yesterday and Wednesday due to poor planning and, if I'm being honest, sheer laziness (takeaway and unnecessary snacks) so today will definitely be a NSD (8/30).
Hope to continue this into the weekend but I think our Mums both need a top up shop so I'll need to resist getting anything myself 😬
  • I've been to my Mum's house! As in I've been inside & spent time with her!!! So happy, the boys were overjoyed to see her and get cuddles, as was I 😊
DH was pleased to see her and to have a change of scenery, was a bit less pleased that she needed him to fit a new toilet seat she'd bought pre-lockdown 🤣
Small spend on a chippy tea & ice cream, a lovely treat for our proper reunion.
Feeling really tired now, a bit of an emotional day. Looking forward to snuggling up with DH to watch a film once the boys settle (all our good intentions with bedtime routine have flown out of the window today as they've both been overexcited to see their Grandma).
MIL coming to visit us in our garden tomorrow so the mission is to keep the boys at a sage distance without too much confusion 🤞

  • Quick update as today was a NSD (9/30). MIL visited for a couple of hours, all went well. The boys were great although DS1 was a bit confused why he couldn't cuddle this Grandma. The weather has been glorious here today so lots of time out in the garden, we cut the grass and got a fair bit of weeding done. Rain forecast the next few days so I took advantage of the sun today and got 3 loads of washing done too.

Glad you got out. I saw family yesterday too but it was weird staying socially distanced.

  • NSD 10/30, and a good day for getting things done -
My friend had dropped some clothes off for DS2 as her son had outgrown them so they've all been washed, dried & put away. DS now has far too many clothes as he has all DS1's cast offs too 😆
Mum was desperate to have the boys on her own for a few hours do I dropped them off & it sounds like they've had a blast, they didn't want to come home and have happily gone to bed as they're both exhausted!
I've finally got the amendments done on 2 assignments I've been avoiding for a while, feels good to get them out of the way. Also did a couple of short online work related training sessions and am fully up to date there too.
Sold & posted an outgrown baby sleeping bag on eBay, listed a further 7 items.
Also listed DS2's highchair on FB and someone wants to pick that up tomorrow.
Cashed out a £10 Amazon voucher from Snap My Eats, transferred £10 to savings to offset the voucher.
Cashed out £6.11 from Prolific and sent that across to savings pot.
Also sent an enquiry to ZipZero as 2 payment requests I sent in early April are still showing as 'processing' They're usually very quick at processing payments so thought it was worth following up.
Even more exciting than all of that, I've had 3 uninterrupted (& hot 😬) cups of coffee today 🤣 I really am easily pleased!
Hope everyone else is well x
