Quick 1st of the month check in. Debt total now £7800, just over 42% paid now.
£33.34 sent across to the mortgage to tidy the balance.
Signature updated.
Telephone appointment regarding remortgage yesterday (current deal ends soon) looks like we can access some good deals with our current LTV and with the base rate being cut.
Busy with home working and keeping the boys occupied. DH is a key worker so in and out all the time.
Supporting both Mums and 2 sets of siblings who are self isolating for 12 weeks so look like a panic buyer each time I go to the shops. DH and I have started taking turns to balance the milk, bread and fresh produce purchases.
I should have had a hospital appointment today, this is now a telephone consultation. DH off too so a day to unwind and go for a short walk I think.
Hope everyone is well, take care x

Mortgage appointment was with my current lender & had a couple of good deals, they're going to send some paperwork out detailing these so I can go through it with DH in more detail. We need to check what other providers are offering too - that's definitely a job for the weekend.
Half my office have been furloughed today despite my team still being swamped with work. Not totally sure how I feel about working so hard when others are at home on full pay doing nothing plus I still have commitments to the professional course I'm undertaking - now being done by Skype & Microsoft Teams - I like the routine of getting up and doing work but it's a massive struggle juggling both mine and DH's work commitments (he's also mega busy) and the coursework with looking after the needs of a 4 year old and a 1 year old all day every day, I'm not a natural stay at home parent nor would I ever choose to work with my children 🤣
Need to keep looking at the positives - we're all in good health, we still have jobs & our nearest & dearest remain well (although 3 of our wider circle of friends are showing symptoms of CoVid19 which is a worry).
In debt busting news I've spent some time going over the budget from April and with reduced fuels costs, no parking charges, no school dinner money & no hair appointment for me today 😢 I've just sent £301 across to the CC to bring this below £5,000 - current balance now £4,999.
We're currently waiting a refund for our cancelled Grand National trip, £330 for us but £1650 for all of our group who were due to go, I'm trying to be patient but the company we booked with aren't very forthcoming with information at the moment. Worst case scenario we can make a section 75 claim as I paid for it all on the credit card. Fingers crossed for it being sorted soon.
Hope all my diary visitors are keeping well, stay safe x3 -
Hi DITR,
Glad to read that you and family are well, despite been swamped with commitments that is 😂. Its really scary how quick things are progressing through this virus, can't imagine it getting better for a little while yet though.
Well done on keeping that debt payment train going though and that balance is coming down well.
Stay safe x4 -

Thank you @FootyFanDan & @beanielou
Felt a little flat for purely selfish reasons this morning as this should've be the weekend we went away with our friends as a group gathering for 3 of our 40th birthdays.
There's much much bigger problems in life but it just made me realise how much I'm missing my friends, we do catch up regularly, especially recently bit we don't get the opportunity to go away together, this would've been the first time in 5 years.
We're already discussing plans for our next big catch up when it's safe to do so & we've had an unsuccessful flutter on the virtual grand national 😉
We also had our walk earlier, first time out in 3 days so it was good to get some fresh air.
About to get the boys settled for the night then DH & I are planning on enjoying a glass of wine or 2.
Happy Saturday everyone 🙂

Sorry you are missing your friends and planned weekend away. We both turn 50 this year - and while we hadn't booked I had hoped me and DH would fit in a little celebration of our own.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
