Great idea to pay a wee bit more while you can :)
Sounds like the boys had fun :)

Its nice to find ways to keep the boys entertained in this crazy time. I think its a sensible idea to overpay where you can not feel the impact too much due to a reduction in other expense.
  • I think it's definitely an Asda thing with people and the arrows, every time I go in there are people somehow oblivious to the giant markings on the floor. We've taken to going a bit further to Tesco as people seem a bit more on the ball in there, though Asda is still where I go to do my nan's shopping and I always end up in a huff by the time I come out :joy:

Great news on your cousin, and the savings xx
  • Thanks for popping in again @beanielou @FootyFanDan and @SSDD23
A day of mixed fortunes today, have just come off the training session for my course. A bit of a waste of time for me as I was so distracted with the boys. I'd prewarned my tutor so that he knew where I was if I wasn't answering any questions and have arranged a follow up call tomorrow to pick up on a few bits I've missed. I think I've got the gist of it but worth checking before I start my next assignment. Still waiting on feedback for my last assignment too so chased that up too. Fingers crossed that doesn't need further work as I'm lacking a bit of motivation for this course again at the moment 🤞
In money saving news, today will be another NSD.
We managed to get a delivery slot from Mr A tomorrow so I've sat with a cuppa this morning and completed the order for us and our Mums, spent much less than the last few weekly shops thank goodness 😊
The refund from the Grand National has arrived & I've had an email from Haven today confirming our break next month has been cancelled 🙁 - they'll be in touch next week to go through the options but we're going to get a refund.
We've decided that this year is a write off for our planned trips and holidays so will put refunds towards debts then start saving for a holiday abroad next summer or the year after depending on what travel restrictions may look like.
Cloudy here with rain forecast the next few days so think I'll get the boys out for a walk while we have the chance, will fill some time in while waiting for DH to finish work.
Hope everyone else is well xx

Some great savings. Love the idea of the kids painting the patio with water. Glad your cousin is recovering well.

Thanks both, budget planning is in full flow. Can't wait until Friday when all the Direct Debits & Standing Orders have cleared and we can put our plans into action, looking forward to updating my signature too 😉
I'm pleased I took the boys out yesterday afternoon as 5 minutes after getting home it started raining and hasn't stopped.
Was wide awake at 5.15 so got up and made a start on my work for the day while it was quiet, very productive.
Then I had my catch up call with my tutor so I'm up to speed with what I need to do for the next unit & have a few areas to go over before resubmitting my last assignment (there's always something, tbh I think my tutor is a bit OTT in what he asks for, some have my colleagues have completed the same course with another training company and passed the course with a lot less content in their assignments 🤐).
But my big news of the day is the one I've been waiting for, I'm being furloughed!
Have a few loose ends to tie up tomorrow then I'm done for 3 weeks minimum which will be a blessed relief and one I am very grateful for.
I have my coursework to do and a few other smaller pieces of CPD but these are not time bound, just something to keep me going during the downtime.
Asda delivery has been so everything has been either put away or packed into bags ready for our Mums, I'll take these once DH finishes work in aroun 15 mins then it's time to relax a little.
    Hope everyone is well x

Glad you've been furloughed if that's what you wanted. Is that indefinitely or did they do it 3 weeks at a time?
