The clocks changing have put me out too, takes me ages to reset my internal schedule!
Well done on your overpayments last month, lovely to just have the 1 CC and family loanDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Well hello mid-November
Tough couple of weeks since I've last logged in, too much too document here but in a nutshell lots of things have broken, several unexpected events that had to be dealt with and attended to and a couple of bouts of illness. All of which have cost time and money.
So we'll be squeaking our way through to my pay day on the 26th and the savings pots are looking dire as we've had to borrow from most of them to avoid putting anything on the CC's but could have been worse, apart from Christmas and 1 lot of road tax due 1 Jan we have no annual bills due until May so there should be plenty of time to build the saving pots back up early 2020.
With doing a balance transfer last month there's no minimum payment to the CC this month which has been a bit of a life saver to make the budget work this month. The cashback for this card showed as payable today so have withdrawn that, should be in our account early next week.
Feels good to be back, holding myself accountable here definitely helps. Hope everyone reading this is doing well and (((hugs))) to those who need them.
Onwards and upwards

I feel you on the tough month! New starter motor and battery, Boiler broken, washing machine broken, dislocated shoulder meaning three weeks unpaid, and car has now thrown up a warning light. I am done!
Keep on, things have to go up at some point right?Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -

Thanks for the comments and poor you DAL, I agree our luck has to change soon.
So true about the EF too SH. I think it's easy to panic when you see it dwindling rather than thinking that actually that's what it's there for
Since my last post we've only spent £15 which feels like a miracle, took the boys to a local towns Christmas Lights Switch on and enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere, there was a small Christmas market but no purchases made. The boys enjoyed a couple of fair rides each and then we shared 2 hot chocolates with some snacks we'd taken.
Mon and Tue were the first NSDs of November for meand today should be the same so the meagre budget should hold out a little longer, 6 days until payday.... I usually grocery shop & top up fuel each Friday as I'm driving more fore work but trying to eek out petrol as much as possible this week and also using up freezer and cupboard supplies to try to get away with just a small top up shop and will only top up petrol when the light comes on
DH is still off work following his knee surgery so at least we're saving some fuel costs there too.
We're getting there with Christmas shopping, have wrapped what we've bought and written some cards last night. Also have a list for the remaining items needed so should be able to sort them in one go once payday arrives.
Aim to spend some time this evening catching up properly on here, missing hearing how everyone is getting on - hope everyone is well x1 -
Hello
So Wed and Thu also ended up as NSD's. Have done a small top up shop today to see us through to payday on Tuesday and also topped up with £10 of petrol to see me through.
DS1 is crazy about Hot Wheels at the moment and have managed to pick up a Hot Wheels garage and car transporter for the bargain price of £10 from a seller on FB, saved a fortune as we were looking to buy these new next week so really pleased with this as both are in fantastic condition too.
Sent £1.11 over to the CC to tidy my bank account
Also finished the last of the decluttering so the local charity shop has done well out of us over the last 2 weeks and our house is looking lovely and organised
DS1 is currently snuggled up on the sofa as he was sick at school so had to pick him up. Poor thing is wiped out but hasn't been sick since school so hopefully he's on the mend.
No plans for the weekend, it's our last quiet weekend in the run up to Christmas so thinking family games, movies and just taking it easy. DS1 was due to go to a school friends birthday party tomorrow at a local soft play but I want to make sure he's got this bug out of his system and not spreading it to others so I'll let his friends Mum know.
Not a lot else to report but trying to get back in the habit of posting as it does make me more mindful when it comes to spending.1
