So sorry to hear that your relative has had this diagnosis. We went through similar with FIL - very sad - yet another of our friend's has survived 15 plus years despite being stage 4 with a brain tumour. HugsAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you both, much appreciated xx
Life's just feeling a bit bleurgh at the moment, I'm a bit under the weather too and have been prescribed a course of antibiotics, not much in the scheme of things but just another obstacle in the way when I want to be there for others.
Signature updated as this month's payment has gone out to CC2 today. Just over 15% of the debt paid off now, so at least that's one positive.

Morning all
Still not feeling too great, struggling to have motivation for anything so DH has very kindly sent me back to bed with a cuppa while he sorts the boys.
Think I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed with the health things going on in my family and with having an infection myself I'm just feeling a bit run down.
DS2 was up really early yesterday so used the time to do a bit of batch cooking for myself and my brother's family (it's my sister in law who has the brain tumour) so have stocked up both our freezers ahead of my DH having knee surgery tomorrow and SIL starting chemo/radiotherapy in 2 weeks.
Once I drag myself out of bed DH & I are going to get bags packed for tomorrow, the boys are having a very early drop off at their Grandma's before I then take DH to hospital. I'll stay with him until he goes into theatre then hopefully be back in time to pick DS1 up from school & then DS2 up from his Grandma's.
DH is due to be discharged from hospital on Tuesday all being well and then it's a case of seeing what we need to do to get him back on track, just hope they can pinpoint what's wrong this time as surgery last year made no difference & he's in absolute agony all the time so we're both pinning our hopes on this surgery having a positive outcome.
Budgets still in tact for the month and have been continuing to TT our accounts, no extra payments from surveys as I just can't be bothered with them at the moment. Points are still building in Receipt Hog, Shoppix and VYPR do may have a couple of payouts on those in the next week or 2.1 -
Sorry to hear you still don't feel well, take care and do rest when you can x
Hope everything goes well for DH tomorrow and how lovely of you to do some cooking for your brother and SIL I am sure this will be appreciated.
The surveys can wait, no wonder you feel overwhelmed, it does take its toll emotionally as well as physically there is a lot going on for you and your family so please do take care and don't put too much pressure on yourself xx
Sending a hug

Thank you lovely x
Let's start this post with some debt busting news instead of me moaning! Just TT'd my account so £3.11 sent across to CC1.
Now that this card is below £1000, these little extra payments really seem to make an impact. The plan is to clear this card using my next 2 wages. This plus regular payments to the other 2 debts should all help me achieve my £9999 by the 1st January target.
I'm feeling much better today, 1st decent night's sleep in ages has helped, as is the fact both boys are still asleep, one or both of them are usually up at 6 so this feels like a treat
DH had his surgery yesterday & early signs are that it has gone well, he certainly seems to be have more movement & can fully extend his leg for the first time in 2 years! He's had an egg shaped cyst removed, one of the nurses in theatre showed him it, it's no wonder he's been in so much pain having something that size stuck in the back of his kneethey didn't see anything else that may be causing the pain so thankfully he doesn't have to have a knee brace on, just needs to use crutches until he gets used to being able to weight bear again. Poor DH has had such a tough time with this that it was lovely to see him smiling so much last night thinking that the surgery has helped, he's hardly dared to get his hopes up as it's gone on so long. So, all in all, yesterday was a positive day.
After taking him to the hospital I met up with my lovely mum for tea & toast at our favourite cafe then had a little look around the shops, nothing bought but just enjoyed spending time together & helped distract me from worrying about DH.
Popped into Mr A's for a small top up shop of milk, bread and fruit so not too much damage done today.
Day off today so planning on a quiet one, hopefully have a short walk out with DH & DS2 while DS1 at school.
Hope everyone else is well. Hugs to those who need them.

Thanks Beanie
Quiet day as predicted, DH having a few niggles but seems to be recovering well. I deliberately haven't done much other than catch up on diaries her and completed a few surveys on PA for the first time in ages, managed to get a few interesting ones and have cashed out £7.80 which I've sent to CC1.
DH & I have also discussed a few ideas about how we want to manage our finances in the new year, nothing major but made a pleasant change for him to instigate the conversationI think he can't quite believe that, all being well, the debt will be in 4 figures soon. I just need to keep gently reminding him that we DO need to be saving and investing for the future and we DO NOT need to be buying guitars and/or shiny new gadgets :rotfl::rotfl:
He isn't a spender as a rule but every now and then he gets a real urge to spend a few hundred pounds on something shiny to play with. In fairness he's been quite reserved since we merged our finances when I was pregnant with DS1 but the urge has never totally gone. Having separate personal spends definitely helps with this, perhaps we can look at increasing our 'pocket money' once the debt has gone
Also hit the payout threshold on VYPR for the first time today, taken a little while to do so but it's not very time consuming and free money is free moneynot sure how long they take to payout but thank you in advance to Sashybo for telling me about that app x
