Mr Friendly
If you feel you have been subject to 'downright abuse', please REPORT IT!
I'm sick & tired of people asking questions on MSE & then taking the huff and accusing people who are expressing their honest opinion, of being abusive/rude/offensive/condescending, just because they disagree with their point of view. I politely suggest you report the 'downright abuse', as true abuse is not tolerated on MSE. I will watch with interest and await the abusive post(s) deletion.
I'm happy to accept other opinions but I wont accept abuse. Thankfully the moderators and/or admin saw fit to remove the abuse.
Thanks for your post though0 -
Mr F....any news? Have Audi agreed to pay for the damage? Intrested to know the outcome of this...0

Damn are you serious!?
You do not have a leg to stand on, and you don't like people telling you this.
Even if after 5 miles driving, the first day you got it, the whole engine fell out, thats your problem, no one elses.
It's part of buying privately instead of from a dealer. You get a cheaper price, but you take more risks. It's why the AA/RAC inspections are offered. Again, up to you to take them up on that offer if you want to pay for it (which I doubt you did also).
It's up to you to look through the service history.
Can't believe your coming across this way towards people who are giving you good advice because you simply do not like it.
People are being funny with you because your doing it yourself to them, not taking any notice of them, just carrying on about mileage.0 -

No doubt you are going to find yourself reported!
On the positive side, no mention of claims for compenstation from Audi on top of repair bills..."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -

Most probably, I am quite a bully for telling him the mileage is not the only thing that counts!0 -
Sorry, I forgot to update people on this.
After several months of going back and forth with Audi, they initially rejected the fact that they would repair the vehicle. After threatening with small claims action and other such like (whether or not it made a difference, who knows) they agreed to foot 90% of the bill with 10% being my costs.
I was happy with that and the vehicle is now fixed and on the road.
Hope this helps some.0 -
So all the posts saying you had no legs to stand on were wrong then. Good on you for your perseverance.

People weren't necessarily wrong. Sometimes if you scream and shout at a big company enough they will pay to get rid of you. In my experience with car companies the least deserving cases always seem to get resolved. The man without a signature.0 -

I prefer to think that if Audi felt they would have won a court case they would have let it go that far. After all they would have saved the money and would have had their legal costs passed my way.
They chose to accept liability for 90% of the fees if I paid 10% which I thought was a fair enough deal.
Either way I'm happy so will leave it at that.0
