Yah for a no credit Christmas
I have also had a dire diet recently & it does not take long to show up.
I have a couple of ulcers & my skin is breaking out.savingholmes wrote: »Beanie and GAP - definitely eat better. I eat too much junk but I eat lots of vitamin rich food too so have got away with it so far. Hope your general health improves soon.
GAP hope your finger heals quickly.
I know what to do and how to do it, it's just actually doing it that is the problem. I need to build my energy back up. I'm just feeling really miserable right now. Hopefully I'll snap out of it soon. Thank you both.
It's confirmed we're getting paid on 31st December this year which, for me, is a good thing. I have my budgets and I like to keep the routine. Some folk at work were a bit "disappointed". One person said they would rather have the money to spend on presents before Christmas. That's the same person that I know would plead poverty for the whole of January. I happen to know they earn double what I earn but they're always complaining of being skint. Sometimes I just feel like saying "STOP SPENDING THEN" because it really is as simple as that in their case.
For all that I've sellotaped a smile on my face, I'm actually doing okay with all the Christmas stuff. I don't feel too stressed and as long as I keep doing bit by bit it will be fine. I just wish it was warmer. The cold makes things so much worse for me. Ooh beanielou I've asked for a SAD lamp for Christmas. I just have to make it through the next 16 days. When I counted it today I only have 7 working days to go as I have two flexi days that I'm taking over next weekend. Now that's not bad GAP, come on!Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Thank you both. I'm hoping it helps a bit.
Goodness, I can't believe it's a week since I was last here. Just plodding along towards next week, trying to keep things under control but failing miserably. My focus is on that, so not much else to talk about. I've been ill all weekend (from Thursday night to today - waste of two flexi days but at least I haven't had to add yet more sick days to my record). I have blown my Christmas budget and dipped into savings (not that I have much and now that's depleted). I need to prepare a better plan for next Christmas.
Cash grocery budget has £94 left, Asda card has £16. Slush fund has £18. I've got £50 cash in my purse. Still some (borrowed from myself) funds in the Christmas account with just a few things left to buy so hopefully I won't need to dip anymore.
Team Christmas lunch tomorrow but we've already paid for that so will just be a juice and possibly a tip. Besties' Christmas night out (on 22nd this year) is usually a very expensive night out but I won't drink much, if anything, and I can't eat large portions right now so hopefully that will bring the cost down a bit.
I'm actually looking forward to January and getting back on track.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Keep plodding
I'm really struggling but I'm tryingCould do with a loan of your scooter, didn't think I would make it home today and it actually scared me. Got to keep fighting.
I've spent about £40 in groceries. LMG has gone to Asda and I forgot to send the card with her, d'oh!
LMG gave me money towards the family presents so that's a wee bit I wasn't expecting which is quite nice.
Had the team lunch today. My appetite is zapped and I knew I wouldn't manage my starter and main so I managed to talk one of the guys into having it for me. Didn't take much talking and he was delighted haha. I was actually looking forward to the main but it was quite disappointing. Was supposed to be butternut squash and goats cheese cannelloni but it was more like butternut squash and some hard bits of pasta in a scrambled egg/omelette type dish. There was a drink included in the price of the meal and some people left a tip but I managed to not leave anything. I paid £21 for half a can of juice and 3/4 of an omelette. Luckily it was already paid for as if I'd had to find £21 today for that I would have been annoyed. I'm past worrying about the tip/no tip thing.
Really struggled to get home. It took me half an hour to walk a 10 minute walk. I got on the bus and called LMG and asked her to pick me up from the bus stop. She's really stepped up for me this week and I'm so grateful to her.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

My diary is all doom and gloom. Can't wait until I feel better. I got told at work today that under no circumstances have I to go in tomorrow, no matter how I feel. Finger is sore when I knock it or if I move it the wrong way but I'm actually managing ok with it. I'm getting used to being careful with it. It's still a little bruised but it's a trooper haha.
LMG is being brilliant. This is the best she's ever been when I've been ill. Not sure what has booted her up the backside but she's really being ace.
I had a dental appointment today at 3pm. Dutiful daughter drove me to the door. The receptionist was on the phone when I arrived and I was motioned to sit in the waiting room. They know who I am as I have dental phobia and they are exceptionally good with nervous patients. I suddenly had an urge to recheck the date in my email. My appointment is tomorrow, not today. At least I gave everyone a good giggle :rotfl:
LMG has put the tea on so I don't need to worry about that.
My Mum has picked up deliveries for me from town. My Dad says a couple of parcels were delivered to theirs today so that will be LMG's presents that I ordered that I thought were going to be late.
Roughly (without checking) £56 left in grocery cash, £16 on Asda card, £13 in slush fund (until Friday).
I've still got to pick up some vegetables and bits for Christmas dinner but not a huge amount of stuff. I can get round the shop if I get dropped at the door and lean on the trolley. I need napkins and some placemats for the table, some table presents and some wrapping paper. I was feeling a little stressed when I woke up this morning but now I've been told not to go to work I've calmed down. I can't go far but at least I can pick up the last bits I need. I know I'm supposed to be resting and I will.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
