  • Oh yes, I can understand the aversion to "little pockets of money" :p That would raise my hackles too - I'll let you off with pots :rotfl:

Good news about PA - that's great to get the wee apology bonus too, all adds up. I'm waiting on two clearing before I cash out, there have been quite a lot recently, hoping they continue! :)

I've started thinking of some financial goals for next year. I've got tons of other stuff to think about before that but of course, I procrastinate because I don't want to meal plan and do a shopping list for this week :o

-I plan to get the loan to under £4k which is doable with the monthly payments plus an extra wee push.

-I want to have at least £500 for Christmas next year. I've fallen short this year (because I didn't pay attention and plan ahead with the shopping). This is also doable as I pay monthly into a joint account with my sister which is purely for Christmas. That will just need an extra wee push too.

-It's boyfriend's half century birthday next year and I'd like to take him on a special wee trip. I was thinking a lodge somewhere in Scotland (as there's no way I can afford New York which is where I'd like to go :() so I need to step up the savings for that. The caveat with this is that one of his nieces is planning to get married abroad next year. I'm not sure if we will be going or not. I'm not even sure how far along with their plans they are, other than having booked a chapel. If we do end up going then there will be no Scottish lodge. Either way, I'll just keep putting a little aside.

Did a small grocery shop today. Spent £14. Not sure how. It's been a slightly difficult day.
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

To get the loan under £4k by 31st December 2020 I need to find an extra £18 per month.

To get £500 for Christmas by next Christmas I need to find an extra £12 per month.

To find money for a long weekend in August I've not got a snowball's chance but I have a little put away already so if I add £20 per month from January then it will increase by £140. If it ends up being the wedding abroad then I'll have to rethink completely.

So I'm looking at finding an extra £50 per month. Totally doable, as I have already found, but it means I'll need to be on top of my finances at all times which, although this is my favourite subject, can be quite stressful at times. I'll have to meal plan and stop complaining about it. I'll have to be really tight(er) with my cash.

I've not got any financial news.

I'm feeling a bit run down. My mouth is full of ulcers (from one of my health conditions, comes on when I'm run down), I feel exhausted and to top it off I broke my finger this morning :( (don't ask. Wrong place, wrong time but it was definitely an accident) spent a coupe of hours in minor injuries today and it cost me £2.40 for the parking privilege.

I had a few good days and now I'm just feeling sorry for myself again.

Early night tonight and hopefully I'll get a PA payout tomorrow to lift my spirits a bit.

I had no idea there were so many finger jokes :rotfl:

  • Bloody hell, you don't do things by half, do you GAP

Hope you're not too sore and swollen, and the ulcers aren't giving you too much grief - you must be in need of a break from work and day-to-day grind.

    Take care x

Thank you both. It's actually not too bad, it's more of an inconvenience. The pain was at it's worst the day I did it but it only really hurts now when I knock it or accidentally press on it. It's in a plastic tube thingy to support and protect it. There is one particularly sore ulcer, the rest are clearing up now.
My diet has been terrible recently. I need to get back on track. Endless toast does not have fruit and veg in it. I know this is part of the problem so I've told LMG she needs to step up and help me as I'm now at the stage where I need a hand (no pun intended). I'll be fine and I'll get through it but my energy is really low right now and I need a bit of help.

I'm not completely helpless. I've managed to get to work and go to the shops for some Christmas stuff but by the time I get home I'm lying down for an hour before I can do anything else.

£6.95 pay out from PA but it went straight in the Christmas fund. At least I know the only places I'll be owing money to in the new year will be the mortgage provider, the loan provider and my own bank account. Gone are the days of chasing my tail with the credit cards. No Credit Christmas for me! :)

Beanie and GAP - definitely eat better. I eat too much junk but I eat lots of vitamin rich food too so have got away with it so far. Hope your general health improves soon.

GAP hope your finger heals quickly.
