Gap is Back - Time to Knuckle Down

Quick Sunday night catch up.
I'm delighted to say that I am going into the second half of September with exactly 50% of the grocery budget and exactly 50% of the slush fund. I don't need to buy any non-food groceries for the rest of this month, I have everything we need right down to toilet rolls. £60 in grocery cash and £40 on Asda card. I might be pushing it a bit but I'm hoping to only use the £60 cash and roll the card forward to next month. Going to make that my challenge. That's £30 per week for food which should be plenty. I need to complete the meal plan but I'm not overly concerned as most of it will be for me only as LMG is working or has college most days.
Slush fund should hopefully last too as I don't have any plans for the next two weeks. I've paid for family coffee out two weeks in a row (through choice) and I know for a fact my mum won't let me do it a third week so worst case I have to chip in the last weekend in the month (but slim chance).
I sorted some clothes for charity today, stuff I've not worn for a long time and looking at it today I wondered why I was holding on to it. I just need to take it over the road at some point.
I'm really tired tonight but I've done a lot today and normally I spend Sunday on the sofa so early night and hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow for the week ahead.
Off to catch up with other diaries before bed.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

I didn't mean to not check in for a week. I was just away having a pulmonary embolism. I'm not kidding.
I got out of hospital yesterday so I'm trying to get back on track in my own head. The good news is I've not been in any shops. I did give LMG £20 from the grocery budget to get herself some food when I was away and I gave my mum £15 from the slush fund to pick up some personal bits and bobs for me, but nothing else spent. I still have £68 in the grocery budget (£28 cash and £40 on the card) and I have £40 in the slush fund. One week to payday.
I may take some more time off work just to get myself settled. Docs say I can go back whenever I want and so I thought I would just go back this week but the realisation of what has happened to me only hit me yesterday so I might need a bit more time.
I hope everyone else is well. I'm going to catch up on a weeks' worth of other diaries now.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Holy flip GAP  How are you feeling? I'd definitely take your time going back, I think you'll probably be in shock for a few days.
Your comment about the good news being the lack of spends did make me smile - the lengths some folk will go to for a NSD, eh
Take care x0 -
I'm actually feeling not too bad, thank you. The worst thing about hospital (apart from no sleep) is it makes you feel worse than you are so I'm just trying to adjust to being back to normality. Yes, the shock hit me as I left the ward yesterday. They are telling me I've had a blood clot in my stomach since 2017. I had problems back then but they scanned my legs and lungs (standard) at the time and found nothing. It's only because a bit of it broke away and went into my lung which caused me pain, that they have found it this time.
Yep, got to get the NDS's in somehow eh? :rotfl:

I went over the £28 grocery cash by £5 but I had £9 maintenance in a separate account so took it from there. The only reason I went over it was because LMG went to the shop with me *rolls eyes*. Still got £40 on Asda card so I told LMG if we need anything else before Monday it needs to be bought at Asda using the card.
£4 left in slush fund. Going out with boyfriend for something to eat one night between now and Monday. It won't be expensive and I suggested that we just split the bill, probably around £10 each so I'll blow that budget. He's going to the dentist tomorrow for something horrible so I'm hoping we can make it this weekend and that way we won't be tempted to go out during the week and at the weekend.
Got an appointment at the docs today for a follow up from last week. I'm hoping she'll just sign me off to the end of this week then I'll go back to work next week. I don't want to stay off for ages but I feel I just need this week to get my head back in the game.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
