    Hello,
I have found one post, all I'm asking is what I should say to the court as I will need to explain why i want a face to face hearing.
    Many thanks

Nosferatu and others already gave chapter and verse on this topic in other threads
Use the Advanced search facility - top of the page - and just start typing nosf...... in the author box and "face-to-face" or "face to face" in the top box, scroll down and press search.  OR just leave the author box clear and just type in the top box and press search.

    Thank you
This user is still at defence stage so no mention of receiving a letter from the courts.
Shall I just email VCS and see if we can come to come arrangement? Or should I wait for them to contact me?

If thats what you want to do, why not do it? DROP HANDS is the phrase to use - you both walk away, noone pays anythign more to anyone. All done. Its the only outcome you really want

As for giving reasons, youve been told a few already.

Thanks for coming back to me Nosferatu.
Ok, so in my email, do I just say, on back of the letter from the courts, I would like to Drop Hands?
Any recommendations on how to phrase my email would be great if you dont mind?

Have a go and draft one and regulars will help you tidy it up.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Not quite your scenario, but surely easily adaptable.

Look around. See what's going on.  ;)

No, the idea is - you write it. its your email.
    Title it
WITHOUT PREJUDICE SAVE AS TO COSTS -> this msut be done. No ifs or buts.
It would make sense of course to refer to the court order you just received, as that is whats prompting you to write
then you state that, in light of their recommendation at... you are offering a solution in the form of a DROP HANDS offer, whereby both parties walk away from the claim, and neither pursues the other for their costs accrued to date.
State the offer is open for 7 days from the date this offer is given, presumed the same day as it is via email. After this time you will write to the court rejecting the options and requesting an in person hearing as soon as it is possible to do so.

    How does this look?

    To whom it may concern,

I received a General Form of Judgement or Order from the Birmingham County Court today stating that our hearing due on 7th April has been vacated. In light of their recommendations, I would like to offer a solution in the form of a DROP HANDS offer, whereby both parties walk away from the claim, and neither pursues the other for their costs accrued to date.

This offer is open for 7 days from the date this email (3rd April 2020) After this time I will write to the court rejecting the options and requesting an in-person hearing as soon as it is possible to do so.

    Yours
