    Good morning,

Hopefully I will get a hang of the new style forum soon.

Thanks SSG - the hard work is to stay debt free.

So I’m staying in a nice hotel in Ireland for my volunteer event I’m shattered - I got to bed early last night but with traffic noise and inconsiderate guests having a party in their room/hall I need another sleep.  Also hotel couldn’t find my booking so had to book again and will claim cost back later.

Money front - so nice to get paid last week and I’m trying the cash envelope system and so far so good 😊. I am away 3 nights next week for work and that should cut my spends down for the week.

I don’t have much more news & will go for a walk round the town before the conference starts.

  • Just caught up with your diary munchin. Hope all's going well.

    Afternoon,
Struggling a bit with these new boards & I’ve been really busy so haven’t updated diaryland much.

Made a mistake on budgets this month and moved more to savings than planned so yet again it’s going to be another tight month & this month I have a lot of commitments and plans.

Budget this month (not including diesel) - £300.

    Hi SSG
I’m good. As you can see I’m still struggling with the new boards but I will get there. I’ve been a bit MIA because of real life - busy with work and home.

So sister caught the virus but thank goodness she is coming out the other side & friends father is in hospital - we thought because we live in country and now self isolating we would hopefully escape but sister lives nearby and caught it. Scary times.  If there are positives from these scary times it is that I get time with my Mum in her twilight years; I’m spending time outside sorting my garden; pup has never been walked so much (in our own fields); baked loads; and this might finally cure my impulsive spending.  I am also going to change my work life balance when things go back to normal.

Money front - I’m still debt free but I have no emergency fund or buffer because I used it to clear my debt. Plan is to build it up again just to have that security. Continuing to save for my holidays but heaven knows if the Oct one is still on.

Plans today - not much as I was so busy last few days but do plan on catching up on diaryland. Keep safe.

Oh Munchin - I'm so sorry to hear the news of your sister, but thankful that she is on the way to recovery. It must have been such an awful worry for your family, especially your poor mum.  And I do hope your friend's father recovers well too.   As you say though, at least you are spending more precious time with your mum and well done with your list of positives.

Have a good week. Are you working from home?
